I don't care how janky the production value may or may not be come next Thursday, this is awesome news....

NBC has announced that the entire cast of Parks and Rec will return for a 30-minute special that will debut on April 30 at 8 pm EST to benefit Feeding America. The episode is based around Leslie's determined attempt to stay connected with her friends and colleagues during a time of social distancing. In addition to Poehler and Offerman returning, the special will also see Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Jim O'Heir and Retta reprise their roles, with special guest stars also teased. "Like a lot of other people, we were looking for ways to help and felt that bringing these characters back for a night could raise some money," said executive producer Michael Schur. "I sent a hopeful email to the cast and they all got back to me within 45 minutes. Our old 'Parks and Rec' team has put together one more 30-minute slice of (quarantined) Pawnee life and we hope everyone enjoys it. And donates!"

P&R and The Office (US) are eerily similar in that it took them a short first season to figure out how to write the main character and then figured it out in the second and proceeded to take off and put themselves into the pantheon of great comedies.

When Mark left and Ben and Chris came on the show became awesome.

We watched the pilot and maybe the second episode and bailed. I think I've read that we can skip the first season all together and just start with the second.

They realized Leslie Knope wasn't Michael Scott and stopped writing her that way. That was a huge help.

We're almost done with our rewatch, so this is awesome timing.

Ben Wyatt is easily my favorite character on that show.

My favorite secondary character is Jean Ralfio.

Love P&R. One of those shows that if I am flipping through the channels and someone is playing a rerun or marathon I stop and watch that. No matter how many times I've seen the epsiodes.

This cast, they are all strong and funny.....
