Man, NBC had to have one of the best, and underapprciated, Thursday sitcom lineups in the history of TV.
At one point they had Community (season 1), Parks & Rec (season 2), The Office (season 6), and 30 Rock (season 4).
Freaking incredible. I personally believe those shows were under appreciated as whole for their time, with the exception of The Office and kind of 30 Rock. The Office was a juggernaut and 30 Rock was held in high regard, but I think all 4 of those shows have only grown in popularity since they've been off the air. I think that's really incredible. If they had the following they do today, it might be the best sitcom lineup ever.
Well get ready for your mind to really be blown when you find out that NBC did this many many times, on Thursday night even, and this version was arguably the least successful by far compared to the 80s Thursday night must see lineups.TCTTS said:Beat40 said:

Looking back, it really is mind blowing that all four of those shows aired back to back to back to back over a two-hour block.

The bolded section - wouldn't this, along with the increased popularity of those 4 shows after they went off the air and ended up on streaming services indicate that they were in fact under appreciated for their time?expresswrittenconsent said:
They were properly appreciated at the time by pop culture and media reviews. But it wasn't a juggernaut. CBS was still crushing all of it with dated crappy laugh track sitcoms. Community was the real step child of the group, constantly under threat of cancelation. P&R was protected by the office and 30rock had Don Lorne looking out.

I don't really care to argue, but I think you could look back and say with their popularity today that they weren't appreciated in the way they are today.
