I'm excluding science fiction (Wars, Trek, etc.), but including "realistic" dramas about future space exploration. I guess the litmus test is whether or not there are aliens.

I know there are many others, but I don't think I've seen them yet.

Technically, it has alien microorganisms, but I've only read the book. Also, there's no space exploration.

Well darn it, I broke my own rules! I'm just trying to eliminate space dramas with decidedly "science fiction" elements.

He said he was excluding science fiction unless it was realistic. Pretty sure the whole black hole/4th dimension/time and space travel/time loop falls pretty far outside of the gritty realism of something like Apollo 13.

And whether Contact has aliens is supposed to be an open question

I rewatched Contact for the first time in years a few nights ago on cable. Not only does it hold up, but I seriously think it might be one of my all-time top ten movies - space, sci-fi, or otherwise. It's just so damn good, and everything I want from a movie.
