I haven't been to a movie theater in a long time but you guys are making me want to go watch this just because it sounds like it's as much fun to make fun of as it is to watch the next level CGI and no ragrets destruction.
IMAX or GTFO. Eye candy indeed. The fights gave my retinas cavities.

Since TCTTS mentioned it, is Thundercats really happening? I just keep hearing about. I have been waiting about 30 years for Cheetara on the big screen.....

From Deadline

WINGARD: ThunderCats is a dream project for me. When I was in high school, I was obsessed with it. You'd think at that point, I was a little too old, that my years of obsession with ThunderCats would be when I was 6 years old. My real obsession with ThunderCats came in high school, the pinnacle of me deciding I wanted to be a filmmaker, and pushing in that directionI actually spent most of my 10th grade year, I completely blew it. I didn't pay attention in school, made terrible grades. And the reason? I was writing my ThunderCats screenplay through my entire 10th grade year. And I was hand-writing it. The screenplay itself ended up being 272 pages long. I still have it. It was one of those things where I would carry around my notebooks and talk about it. I didn't even realize the kids in my class were making fun of me as they would ask me questions about my ThunderCats screenplay. It was only one day my friends asked me and I was excitedly telling him all these things about my ThunderCats screenplay. And I heard him turn around to some of the girls in the class, these were girls I had crushes on, and he's making fun of me for writing ThunderCats! Because it was ridiculous. But that was the first moment where I had a though that maybe I would not be able to make the ThunderCats movie. I thought, am I crazy for obsessing over this, thinking it's something you can just do? As it turns out, when you're a kid in Alabama with no resources or connections to filmmaking, it is impossible to make a ThunderCats film. But flash forward, 20 years later and here we are.

Are we really concerned with running out of ideas for this franchise or any other Hollywood franchise for that matter? They will just keep changing time periods and added monsters. They do the same thing with superhero movies over and over and over.

All this talk got me to watch the 2014 Godzilla for the first time. And now I finally know where the "let them fight" gif came from.

Also, Elizabeth Olsen is all kinds of hot.

Next movie will be Into the Monsterverse. Kong and Zilla will be transported through a worm hole and end up in alternate reality earth where alien Kaiju are attacking cities and humans have built huge robots to fight them.

How about an alternate history where when the US is about to drop the A-bombs on Japan it unleashes Godzilla as a counter-punch and the whole movie is the US military vs. Godzilla as he makes his way towards the US?

I noticed there wasn't a token Chinese actor in this one, did they get government approval for distribution in the Chinese market by destroying Hong Kong instead?

Not sure if this was mentioned but why does this movie have to be 2 hrs? In fact why do most movies have to have a long run time? There is not reason why this movie needed to be 2 hrs.

- Oh, and for the record, I was wondering how there was sunlight in Hollow Earth as well, but then they showed a quick, establishing/vista shot of the throne room exterior in the distance and the "power source" or whatever that was kind of glowing above/around it, through the clouds. I took that to be where all the "sunlight" was coming from, kind of like a mini star at the center of the Earth.

You'll seriously rationalize that but not Flash being able to go back in time a few seconds?

They actually shared that there was a power source equivalent to the sun in Hollow Earth before they ever went. Did y'all miss that?

Not that it makes any sense at all. King Kong had a Godzilla powered axe for gods sake.

It doesn't make a lick of sense, I admit, but they at least set it up, and is based on their own, internal movie logic. That said, again, I have zero issue with Flash being able to go back in time. As I said before, that wasn't my hang up. It was that all he had to do was *want it really bad* in order to accomplish it. It was just lazy writing, that's all.

A point source of radiation energy in a hollow world is common in science fiction. I don't need to see the schematics / detailed explanation to roll with something like that.

It's becoming clear that you two need to get on a Zoom call and start co-writing Godzilla vs. Kong vs. Flash vs. Superman.

If the idea of a giant lizard with incredibly bad breath fighting a giant gorilla wielding storm breaker, this movie is for you.

If you're going to be worried about plot, internal narrative cohesiveness, or acting... Maybe stay home.

I loved it!

How did King Kong get so.much taller since the other films? He was nowhere near as big as Godzilla and now they are almost the same size?

Speaking of less screen time, did Kyle Chandler sleep with the director's wife? He is in maybe 4 scenes and does absolutely nothing but look at monitors, talk on the phone, and get out of a car.

This gets into what I mentioned about just not caring about the characters.

There was actually a meaningful storyline between Chandler and Millie Bobby Brown in King of Monsters and you got attached to the them and their relationship, but in this one they both seemed to be there simply because they were in the last film.

People complained with the previous MonsterVerse movies that there was too much focus on the humans and not enough monsters. Legendary obviously heard those criticisms and gave the audience what they wanted. Some of you guys really need to adjust your mindset on these types of movies that obviously are never going to receive a best picture nomination and just enjoy it for what it is.

WHAT?! Godzilla isn't going to get nominated for Best Picture?!

My mindset is that I want a movie in any genre I watch to have a reasonably coherent and logical story. High bar, I realize.

As a huge Kong and Godzilla fan I enjoyed the hell out of the fight sequences. As for the plot and acting... this aspect of the film was so lazy and bad that I literally went and spent 10 bucks on the purchase of gymkata and watched it to settle my stomach.
