I'm a few episodes in so far and I'm finding it interesting. Not sure I'll keep up with it however because I use entertainment as an escape from the world and this is crazy heavy into politics.
Anyone else watching?

Read the description of the show on Hulu and immediate eye roll when you see "cisgendered" in it. You automatically know they've applied an additional leftist filter that will make it way too on the nose vs what it was in the books.

Saw the same terminology used in the show description and attributed it to Hulu attempting to head off any questions about whether the deaths affected all men or all cisgender men. Haven't watched episode one yet but will tonight. I've read the graphic novels and I'm definitely interested to see how they port over all the storylines to a series.

Except that it's more complicated than that.
For instance, a woman born a man who is dating a woman could technically be considered "straight."
"Cisgendered" is the clearest, most concise terminology. It's not Hulu's fault the term triggers certain people.

Certain aspects of the pilot will definitely trigger some F16ers, and yeah, even I'll admit it was a bit on the nose at times in that regard. But overall, I thought it was really well done. It's engaging, beautifully shot, and features just the right amount of gore. Honestly, the only thing I couldn't get past was a guy that passionate about magic having an attractive girlfriend (Kendall's assistant from Succession, surprisingly). Interested to see where it goes, though…
Agreed. There are female story lines along with Yorick's.Fenrir said:
It's been years since I read the comic but i would say the claim that the comic was insufficient in it' focus on its female characters as unfair and rooted in ignorance.
One of my favorite scifi stories. I'll give it a shot when I finish what I'm currently on but I've learned to not get too excited about my favorite comic/book properties getting turned into movies or shows. Supposedly this thing has a plan for 5 seasons but I will be shocked if it finishes. So many adapted stories get left unfinished.
I think the term "cisgendered" is a very very long way from clear and concise as I would imagine at least 50% of the population would need to google the term to have any idea what it means.Ol_Ag_02 said:TCTTS said:

Ugh. Nobody wants to have to figure all that **** out. Just tell me what I'm supposed to call Juno and we can call it a day.
Used the "p" word. It's like a bat-signalSwarely said:

I know this is shocking to a lot of people on here but
Sex, sexuality and gender are 3 independent characteristics and 2 of them arent binary.
For example, Roger Stone is male, but a little gay and a little transgender.
