This was an awful movie. I can't believe these A list actors were in this garbage. Just a big pay day for them. Just shows anyone will do anything for money.
Given the plot of the movie...this summary is also correct!chick79 said:

When Leonardo Dicaprio, Al Gore, and The Obamas sell their sea side mega mansions and stop flying private and adopt minimalist lifestyles far inland, I still won't buy into their "OMG the world is ending we need to turn our system upside down" hoopla, but I will at least respect them somewhat for not being complete and utter hypocrites and actually pretending to believe what they push. But since they all still probably have the annual individual carbon footprint of 500+ avg US families, they can all eat a d***.DallasTeleAg said:

If Dems came out and said exactly what you said, I would be more than willing to talk and discuss.
When arguments are made with hyperbole and fallacies, they are "stupid".

Let me guess, a bunch of hypocritical socialist gazillionaires making fun of "science denying" mouth breathing conservatives??? Just curious, do they actually say Meryl Streep and Jonah Hill are Republicans or is it just heavily implied throughout the movie? or is this somehow not political at all?

What's funny is they teamed them up with a tech company to make the move boneheaded decisions ever. Oh, and every decision made is filtered out by the media. Very much resembles the current administration in real life.
Forcing a vaccine mandate while the world is overtaken by a mild form of the virus that also happens to be highly resistant to vaccine. Oh, and start firing nurses and doctors who don't want the vaccine, and then complain with short staffed at the hospital. You literally cannot make up how stupid we are as a country right now. Yet, for some reason, it's F16 bringing politics to the entertainment board.

Before this thread, on this entire site, I don't think I've ever once commented on climate change.
Outside of that, my most "controversial" sociopolitical takes on this board are basically...
- Hollywood isn't comprised of nearly as many liberal elite social justice warriors as some of you might think.
- Can we not ascribe anti-white, anti-America intent from filmmakers based solely on a trailer/preconceived bias, before we've seen the final product itself?
- Can we maybe, you know, show a bit of empathy for some of the people/types a handful of posters come here to mock?
If you find any of those things "stupid," I don't know what to tell you. Unless it just really chafes you that I'm not a huge fan of horror movies or whatever.

The most cliched, TexAgs-iest response ever. I've ignored countless insults on this site, but when I do defend myself from time to time, and call out the person giving the insult, they ALWAYS come back with a version of "Haha! GEEze wHY dO YoU tAKe EveRytHiNg sO PerSOnallY??" Like clockwork.

Also, for the record, those of you who always say "cried like a little b*tch" are always the people I know never to give a sh*t about, because no one who has ever used that phrase hasn't sounded like an overbearing dumbass.

3 edits to continue posting about someone you don't give a **** about. Me thinks you doth protest too much.
Speaking of overbearing dumbasses, that pretty well sums up your entire posting history on this board. I'm just glad others are finally starting to see through your ridiculous masturbatory bull*****
It was easy enough to chuckle at it and ignore it for years but when you started playing the hypocritical victim card, you opened yourself up to every bit of criticism you've gotten lately.

Accusing me of playing the victim while simultaneously giving me all kinds of sh*t for who you think I am as a person is about as ironic as it gets, if not a blatant lack of self-awareness.

Before then, I wasn't talking to you, I hadn't mentioned you, I made no reference to you in any way. I posted something about climate change - which you happened to agree with - but in your agreement you couldn't help but insinuate that I otherwise often post stupid sh*t.
THAT is what I was responding to. So, no, I wasn't being narcissistic in the least. I was literally going about my business, YOU said some insulting sh*t to ME, out of the blue, and I defended myself.
How you can read it in any other way is flat out delusional.

Wow! Holy *****
I never said anything about you as a person. I said that I never accused you of taking things too personally.
I never saw the need as it's patently obvious….your quoted post is Exhibit "A".
****ing amazing!
Get out of here. The thread has officially derailed and we are no longer talking about the movie!benchmark said:

If I or anyone posts anything that bashes Hollywood, you have to respond.
Hey... free country. You do you. I'm still going to think it's stupid and post about it. This is an open forum, whether you quoted me or specifically replied to me is irrelevant. This is not your private conversation that we are all just lucky to get to witness. It is a public forum.
Also, my original post was so obviously hyperbolic to illustrate my surprise that you posted something I agreed with. Lighten up, Francis.

You LITERALLY just called out my "ridiculous masturbatory bullsh*t," accused me of "playing the hypocritical victim card," and then said I'm deserving of whatever criticism I receive. In what world is that not giving me sh*t for who you think I am as a person? I swear, there are a handful of you on this board who are never not assh*les, sometimes to me, mainly just in general, and anytime anyone calls you out on it, you just laugh in their face and dismiss them as crazy, just as you're doing now, and then go back to spouting the same nonsense and stirring the same sh*t in thread after thread after thread. It's always the same, toxic cycle.
