The Ramones.

Utterly unique and original sound that came out of nowhere. And the most important part of that sound was Johnny Ramone's rapid-fire, downstroke only, rhythm guitar style, which itself had no predecessors in the history of rock guitar.

I get it takes a certain amount of skill to do it and not blow out your voice, but Cookie Monster is completely unlistenable for me. Which is a shame because I like harder stuff.

That was kind of my thought as well. It might be hard to do. Doesn't mean it sounds good.

BEASTIE BOYS!

I wasn't necessarily a huge beastie boys fan in their day, but strangely, I recognize their unique greatness later in life. No one else like them!
