Wow...what a weak list!
Of the Best Picture candidates, I've seen 'Dune' , 'The Power of the Dog', King Richard', and 'Don't Look Up'. Three of those I'm good with...but 'Don't Look Up' was not that great.

"Dos Oruguitas" over "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Encanto for Best Original Song?! (My 2 year old would disagree )

Guarantee that Encanto is going to win Best Animated Film when it should be Mitchells vs the Machines.

Best Animated Feature Film
Encanto
Flee
Luca
The Mitchells vs. The Machines
Raya and the Last Dragon

Such a tough choice for this dad. Raya, Luca and The Mitchells are all great. Encanto is good too, if you just watch the music scenes.

Dos Oruguitas is an incredible song - I hope it wins. My kids love the song that we can't talk about.

Although I'd watch some Pixar stuff here and there, I never really watched a lot of animated shows until I had a kid that is into them. I can now look at this category and most definitely have an opinion after seeing most of them 50+ times!

Encanto, Raya, and Luca are all VERY good.
I've never seen Flee or The Mitchells vs The Machines (I've heard The Mitchells is great).

Mitchells vs the Machines is done by the same folks who did Into the Spiderverse. It's absolutely worth watching.

I always enjoy checking out the live action shorts and documentary shorts. Many are on Netflix and/or YouTube.

Just watched "Queen of Basketball" - about Lucia Harris, 70's basketball star and "The Dress" - about love and intimacy from a perspective few of us experience (it's super). I'll make my way further down these lists later -

Yeah I'm just a caveman, but with the abundance of nominations for all the technical categories, I would assume that means the Director of Dune would be somewhat tied to all of that and also get the nomination. I'd be curious to hear the explanation as to why Dune would get nominated across the board but excluded from director.

That Don't Look Up is on that list pretty much invalidates the whole list.
Just blows my mind how out of touch the academy is.

New rule, if you are complaining about a movie or an actor, you have to suggest one to take its place.
