Once again its Sunday afternoon and I'm ready to watch a show that doesn't come on until Monday.

I was thinking this morning (dangerous I know)

But think back to the first scene when Lalo was at Jimmy''s house after thre desert fiasco. How gripping that was, and I think at the time we all "knew" that Lalo survived so he was safe for that scene and it was still remarkable. Imagine watching that now knowing he wasn't.

The sign of an exceptionally well written/acted/directed show is you know the fates (for the most part) of every single character yet you still feel anxious when they are in peril. Of course with Bob Odenkirk it almost became real.

I've read an article or two (no link, sorry) where Gilligan says that if there was another series in the BB/BCS world, it would be about Kim.

Therefore, I have hope that she makes it through BCS. Hopefully.

What if the black and white represents the emptiness he feels now that he can no longer be a lawyer and no longer has Kim. Then it turns to color when he runs into her at some point before the show ends?

I would be absolutely shocked if there was no Kim in the final 3 episodes. No way for a character that rich to just end with a peace I'm out.

Also, what possible story could they tell in 3 episodes without her? Yes, I know they're fantastic at what they do but seriously, we've invested how many hours in her arc, no way she doesn't come back into play.

I have this thought that one of the final episodes will be from Kim's POV in this future timeline, and that is how we see them meet each other again.
Not entirely sure how it works, but I think its interesting

When Saul first meets Badger, he thinks he was arrested for public masturbation

We're about to meet Badger

As soon as he said that on the call last week I immediately got my hopes up for a Badger appearance. Unfortunately the timeline doesn't work for that call to be about young Brandon Mayhew.

Speculation here only.

If we think Carol Burnett is making an appearance as Kim's mom, I could see a possibility that Gene is looking for Kim and comes across her mom. Who tells him that a) Kim is dead or b) that Kim wants nothing to do with him.

Another reason, along with a host of others, that he is so down and out as Gene.

Admittedly would not be my favorite wrap-up of Kim's story.

Yeah man, I hope you are right.

Thats great for carol burnett. Thats one of the most memorable roles you can get. And its 2022. Good for her.

Interesting that Saul didnt know he was going to Nebraska until after he arrived at Vac Repair Shop Guy's business. Any reunification with Kim would be coincidental, not planned.

He said something to the effect of "I'll probably end up managing a Cinnabon in Omaha" to Walt I think it was so he HAD to have some sort of say where he was vacuumed.

But I believe he said that AFTER the scene above where vacuum guy tells him he's going to Nebraska.

You're right. I just re-watched the scene. At the start of episode 15 of season 5 Saul asks the vacuum cleaner repairman "Nebraska? What's in Nebraska?" He says "From now on, you." Good catch.

I didn't fully appreciate the order of that, or had forgotten, until I saw the clip above. I then remember Saul told Walt "be lucky to be a Cinnabon manager in Omaha" while they were sharing that room at the vacuum shop before being disappeared. It's the same episode - Granite State - for both scenes.

I'm still a bit amazed there are 4 episodes left given where they took us, timewise, last Monday. I guess in addition to spending time in Breaking Bad world and timeline, and spending time in Gene timeline in Omaha, they could also spend some time with Kim in her world in a timeline parallel to Breaking Bad?

Wife has to work tonight even though we usually watch shows together. I may have to cheat on her tonight and pretend I haven't seen this.

4 episodes to go, but I'm already sad at accepting that this is the end of my favorite 14 years of storyline from entertainment....

That's a good call! I could see them doing a cold open of Kim doing mundane day to day things in whatever future living situation she is in during Breaking Bad or while Gene is in Omaha.

It's going to be tough to say goodbye to the current one-two punch of Westworld on Sunday night and Better Call Saul on Monday night.

Kim is the only new character from the BCS timeline who isn't dead and conceivably has a story to tell. Of course Gus and Mike are alive in the BB timeline, but we saw them slip immediately into their personas from that timeline.

It seems the only characters with stories left to tell are Jimmy and Kim.

Gene/Saul was on the phone telling somebody that he has been burned. He told that person that he would take care of it himself. Who was he talking to? The vacuum guy? Since Robert Forster died, clearly they can't film a scene with him. If not, then that is a mystery that might need to be solved.

There is zero question he was talking to the vacuum guy. Since he said he would take care of things himself, I don't see a need to have another scene with the vacuum guy.

We are at the point where we are in prologue, preBB, whatever you want to cal it, but these are the episodes that I have been looking forward to for a long time, Full Saul, Omaha Saul, marrying the old world and the new, Kim's ultimate disposition, Walt and Jesse, all in 4 episodes now, it's going to be great.
My guess though, before anyone complains about it, is that tonight might be a setup episode. The writers have a history of this leading into big finales, and the first one in this new world, there might be a lot of exposition to get through. They like to take an episode or move chess pieces around and make the later shows that much more impactful.
Still totally up for it though.

Did they film that scene before Robert Forster died? I wonder if they intended to bring him back.

The end of last episode seemed to be a perfect time to have Walter/Jesse show up. Every other pre-BB storyline is wrapped up. I wonder how they are going to do it now without it seeming forced or strange. Seems like doing it in the Teaser and then jumping straight to Gene timeline would be strange. I'm not sure how they are going to pull it off.

The end of the last episode was still 2-3 years pre-BB timeline though.

What more story is there to tell with Saul? I can't think of any. I can think of maybe some with other people, like Gus recruiting Gale and Kim going back to Nebraska to her Mom. But not a whole show worth.

Gene was definitely talking with The Disappearer as Robert Forster was on camera. They filmed it at the same time he was in town for "El Camino"..

Sadly, the vacuum repair place appears to be gone and now sells furniture.
