Absolutely blew my mind as a freshman in HS in a way few other albums have, before or sense. To me this is among a handful of albums that defined the 90's and stands the test of time better than just about anything else. Amazing LP in every since.

Please remove 'arguably' from the title, sir. That statement is not up for debate.

Agreed. Radiohead may be the most overrated band of all time.

IMO, that's not even the best radiohead album.

And while I like them, I agree, overrated.

Y'all are crazy. I feel like your personal top 10 alternative rock bands would help clear up why you don't see the greatness in RH.

False. Arcade Fire is the most overrated band of all time.

I can think of just about any band of any genre that I would rather listen to than Radiohead.

Interesting commentary on "The Bends" vs "Ok Computer" during one of Rick's livestreams. Skip to ~2:30.

I see OKC as their opus, but I love and still listen to both The Bends and Pablo Honey. Neither are as ambitious or complex, but lots of great songs on them.

Correct. Pearl Jam - Ten , or Nirvana - Nevermind. Those are the epitome of 90's Alt/Grunge.

This. If grunge is considered in OPs definition of alt rock, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, etc are all better than anything Radiohead put out.

What is so great about OK Computer? Can someone put it into words?

The music.

And now I realize the OP is slightly off. Ok Computer isn't just one of the Best Alt Album of the 90's. It's one of the best albums of ALL TIME.

Grunge was a short-lived subgenre that has not aged well at all. Most of the bands you listed were good at capturing that sound and that sound only, and it's pretty boring. I know it sounds elitist but when 40 year old dudes tell me Pearl Jam is better than Radiohead I have to take a step back and realize that there are people out there who think Rocky is better than The Godfather. I love you guys and am glad you enjoy buttrock with that Creed-sounding vocal style, but you're wrong.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik beats all the albums listed, genre notwithstanding.

Edit: Except maybe Nevermind.

MCIS is in my top 5 with OK Computer. Both albums are far better than anything else mentioned in this thread.

OKC isn't even their best album
And I can list literally, off the top of my head, 15-20 albums, from the last 30 years, better than anything Radiohead has done

And I will start with the previously mention Blood Sugar Sex Magic and raise with NIN's "The Downward Spiral."

I grew up listening to everything on MTV starting in the mid 90's and the alt radio station was still playing a lot of grunge and most of it blended together in a pretty boring, generic form. A few bands daring to do something more inventive stood out from the rest. Only reason I'm jealous I wasn't a little older at the time is that I'd loved to have seen my favorite 90's bands live at their height.

Readiohead is ok. I've tried many times to get into their music because people tell me they're one of the greatest ever, but I just get bored listening to it. RHCP and Pearl Jam are my top 2 of the 90s.
