I have this weird feeling Andor will end up being the best show despite no one wanting it.

This was my most anticipated series after Mando. I like the moral ambiguity of the character. And wanted to see more of this part of the rebellion

I will never understand how something like Andor gets seemingly all the money in the world, a 12-episode first season, an early season two commitment, shoots abroad on location, hardly uses the Volume, and every frame so far looks like a movie - while a character as beloved as Obi-Wan Kenobi gets a minimal budget, only six episodes, is shot on digital shaky cam, and they're basically like, "Eh, Simi Valley will do. Everything else we can shoot in the Volume by someone who has no idea how to shoot in the Volume."

I could spend years thinking about this and never come up with an explanation.

Could it come down to just having a bad showrunner? Or would that be more of a symptom than the root cause. Cause I mean, Tony Gilroy vs....Joby Harold? Honestly, what part of his resume made them think he was the guy for the job? That's what I can't understand. It's freaking Star Wars, and it's freaking Obi-Wan. I feel like they could've had their pick of Hollywood.

I think it has to be the Gilroy factor. It's the only thing that makes sense. He's so revered, and has such a reputation, that they probably did anything and everything he said. While Harold is so green that he probably caved to whatever Lucasfilm wanted to him do, and Chow was similarly game to keep the budget low, having never worked in features before, only TV. In short, I bet Gilroy pushed back while Harold and Chow essentially did as they were told. It's also clear that Chow is about as artless as they come, and is in no way a visionary. Whereas Gilroy is an Oscar-nominated filmmaker with an actual point of view.

I will never not picture Diego Luna racing a Dodge Charger or whatever when talking to you to now.

Will be better than Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan for sure. And while it may never reach the highs of Mando, I think it'll be a better all around show for a number of reasons. The cast is too good and there's just too much great talent behind the camera for it to be anything less.
My biggest gripe with the Mando was the "filler" episodes that were just flat out silly children's programming content. If Andor can simply avoid this, and I think it will, I'd about guarantee it will be better.

Just got out of Rogue One. Still such an awesome movie. Especially the final act.

And got me all the more hyped for Andor.

I'm telling y'all, this is exactly what the Star Wars universe needs. We have 9 movies and years worth of shows, books and comics that boils down to good space magic hero versus bad space magic villain. This is something we can personally and historically relate to.

Star Wars fans are not little kids anymore, and stories like this and The Mandalorian resonate so much more to us as adults. It only helps to continue to get away from the Skywalker saga, as well. If the Star Wars universe hinges on name dropping the characters from our childhood then they might as well pack it up.

Someone else made the comment that this will be the best series and people didn't even want it. I agree that it'll be the best series, but I think we wanted it and didn't realize it.

I think somebody blew up in the clip....

.... or maybe Stellan Skarsgard's intensity is too much for the more sensitive viewership.

Just wait until I'm allowed to use my 3d printer for something other than fixing things for my wife or making toys and accessories for the kids!
