I have loved the original since I saw it in the theater as a kid back in '83. Such a classic.... the leg lamp in the "fragile" box, the Bumpas hounds, Fa-Ra-Ra-Ra-Ra, Ra Ra Ra Ra, "You'll Shoot your Eye Out, Kid", Scott Farkus the bully, triple-dog-daring, the tongue on the frozen pole....

Hope they don't screw this up!! Premiers on HBO Nov. 17

This is actually the 8th (!) film in the series, but everyone really only knows A Christmas Story.

Matt Dillon, Jerry O'Connell, and Kieran Culkin have all played Ralphie.

That Ho Ho Ho will never not make me laugh.

It's one of the few movies I loved as a kid as did my kids love.

Can't wait.

And the final scene is one of the funniest in movie history.

No, I already posted about this. It's the actor Scotty Schwartz, A Christmas Story, Kidco, The Toy, who was in porn.

Not the actor RD Robb who played Schwartz.

R.D. Robb? He was in a really funny movie (or at least I remember it that way) called Eight Days A Week (with Kerri Russell back in the day... i think you either get to see her boobs or a body double....and his character was obsessed with sex-toys and jerkin off. (Dildonics).

He was also in the documentary i watched about Don's Plum directing it...seemed to have a pretty good career going until he got caught up in that whole mess and essentially blackballed.

So the original was set in 1940, but released in 1983. If you released this reboot in 2026, but set it in 1983, the time difference would be the same (43 years).
