will watch.

Agreed. It at least looks like it will be good. The original has been out forever so it's not like it's the standard sequel that has been rushed out to capitalize on the popularity of the first one.

She didn't like how the character was just protrayed as a nagging shrew.

Plus Kevin James' good friend Leah Remi was available.

The whole show Kevin Can **** himself is based on that.

Was curious as to why they re-cast the mom, but apparently she turned them down.
Bet the idea of going to Hungary Bulgaria wasn't something she wanted to come out of retirement for.

Julie Haggarty is a good replacement.

This looks pretty bad. Maybe bad isn't the right word but nothing in the trailer makes me want to watch it. Boring.

Fun fact: Ralphie (whatever his real name is) was like a NASA kid ambassador in the 80s. He was at the launch when the Challenger exploded.
Let's go, Brandon!

This looks surprisingly fun to me. And geez you could pick Flick out of a crowd, that guy looks exactly the same.

He had a rough go of it hollywood wise. He became good friends with Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn which really helped him. He's basically produced every Vaughn movie in the last X years.

He directed that horrible movie Couples trip.

Glad he has embraced his inner Ralphie to make some $$.

I wonder how this came about. Was Billingsly approached with a script or did he decide to produce it and hire the writers?

I know most already know this, but was also one of Mysterio's right hand men in Spider-Man Far from Home (and Ironman)

Wow, that looks awful. I'm a HUGE fan of the original. It's in my top tier of all-time favorite movies. And that trailer didn't make want to see that movie at all. Bummer.

I'm glad it's on HBO MAX as I wouldn't want to pay to go see it at the theater and be ticked off but I bet there will be a few good scenes in it. It looks like a 2.5 star movie to me, which is fine for a random night when there is nothing on.

I'm going to make my 18 and 15 year old watch it with me.

We used to watch the original every year multiple times.

Well, did anyone else watch last night? I thoroughly enjoyed it. It felt like a fitting sequel. That could easily be the nostalgia talking though; the original is an integral part of Christmas for me.

I think we'll find a day next week to watch.

I think I'm going to watch it Christmas night. I want to watch the original when it's on tv Christmas eve or Christmas day. I think I'll appreciate the sequel more after watching the first one again even though I've seen it 20+ times over the years.

I can't believe it but they pulled it off. Really was a fun and charming Christmas movie. The right touches of nostalgia, funny, and heart felt.

We showed my kids the original a couple years ago and all of them 14, 11, 10 really liked it.

I'm a softy and I kind of teary eyed a few times as well. Really well done.

I've never been a huge fan of the original, really enjoy parts while others drag for me. Im a sucker for a Christmas movie though so turned it on Friday. There were parts that were "meh" for me, but others that really hit. Loved the Christmas tree shopping scene and all of the caroling bits really hit home. Was always weirded out by the entire idea.

Completely

It is appropriate for normal 5 year olds

Saying this because I let me teen watch shows and play games not appropriate for most 14 year olds.

We aren't worried about it for our kids, but thinking of watching it with family and want to be sure.

We watched it last night and it was an awesome movie. The previews didn't do it justice- at all. I can 100% say it's now in my top 5 Favorite Christmas Movies of all time. As someone who has lost a parent over the holidays and dealt with some bumps along the way, it definitely hit home. I highly recommend you get your family together and watch this movie ASAP. I have a feeling I won't be the only one who thoroughly enjoys this movie. Bring tissues!
