What a weird and wild second episode. Totally off the beaten path, almost like from something from a different show, but, man… so, so good. Stunning at times, even. Basically, the opposite side of the same coin, re: the first episode/all the pieces now being in place to move everything forward. That, and I actually like Kit Harington's character now, or can at least empathize with him, after being completely indifferent to him last season.

Weird is an understatement. Aristocratic birthday party is crazy, but definitely gave some needed background on Henry to make him more sympathetic. I'm not sure if he or Yasmin had a more disturbing upbringing. Claire Forlani's character this episode...wtf?

Yasmin licked the blood.

I thought show should have ended after season 3. I'm might be back at 100% once E2 ended.

IMO, this is officially the best drama on TV.

Incredible third episode, with such a great, getting-the-team-back-together, Enya-themed ending. Overall, it really is amazing how much story this show consistently packs into an hour, this episode being the perfect example.

That said, considering Mad Men is my all-time favorite show, my only complaint is being force-fed the idea/visual of Sally Draper getting railed, which I just can't square no matter how much time has passed.

Outside of that, though? Flawless episode.

I'll admit I was thrown off this episode specifically because they used that song from Enya more than once. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has given me a Pavlovian response to that song and I can't associate it with anything else now, it's burned into my memory. It's a terrifying song to me at this point.

Hyper sexual Sally Draper is definitely something were all... processing. But hey, what a transition to Yasmin with the oyster...

Can someone refresh my memory on why Sweetpea hates Rishi and is calling him a murderer? Is that referring to his wife?

Sweetpea was definitely referring to Rishi's wife, but I don't think we're supposed to know the details yet of what went down in the aftermath. At one point in her yelling she says she "read every horrible detail" about the murder, implying that it was in the press? Regardless, I'm super curious how Rishi got out of that or wasn't accused of murder himself. Either Sweetpea believes he actually murdered his wife, but somehow didn't go to jail (she calls him "a ****ing psychotic liar") - or - Sweetpea simply believes that Rishi "murdered" his wife in the sense his degenerate actions are what led to his wife getting murdered by a gangster. I can't quite tell, but hopefully we get more context soon.

The way I see it, while he did nothing to be convicted of murder, he did everything but pull the trigger due to being a degenerate gambler who brought this killer into their lives and got incredibly underwater with him (half a mill). So in a sense, he killed her himself. I think "all the details" just mean all of his degeneracy that led up to it and caused it. I don't it's more than that.

Seems like some plot devices are being borrowed from Succession this season.

The whole "let's take a trip to a beautiful location to meet some whacky rich people" felt very familiar.

Harper somehow even less likeable this season. Don't know why anyone would ever work with her/invest in her.

Despite all that, it's still better than most of the crap on TV now.

I enjoy the show, but I still think seasons 1 and 2 beat the pants off the current one. The unexpected turns those took… incredible. I would have liked to have seen them keep it fresh with rotating in more key characters (especially new grad classes) and keep it a bit closer to the actual investment banking/trading floor vs morphing into weird-ass english dress-up and poor tortured weirdass nobleman. Harper and Yasmin are both pretty played out in my book. The believability with Harper is really rough at this point. Someone like that is burned at the end of season 2 (what a great turn that was) and completely toasted from a career perspective.

That said, still good tv and a wild ride.

Yea the Harper thing is hard to believe at this point. If they would have taken 5 minutes to add why she could restart for a third time because of blackmail or something then cool. But just being able to call Eric while bailing on an ultra connected ultra elite firm is a a bridge too far. Bring on some chaos tonight!

Agreed. I think where she starts in S3 just twiddling her thumbs made sense. For her to have already worked back to the "top" and then burn someone supposedly incredibly important so quickly is a little much. I can't imagine anyone in that connected world would actually invest with her without her posting some outlandish returns, which apparently wasn't the case.

This is the first week that I watched Industry after A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, I don't think I'll make that mistake again. Ending my Sunday on such tough note is something I'd like to avoid. This episode felt like episode 1 where there was so much going on I kinda got lost. I'm not sure what I think about the show at this moment to be honest, that last sequence was a bit much for me.

Glad I'm not the only one. She'll always be little Sally Draper to me.

Curious to see if anything comes of it, but the drugs he OD'd on were from the random dude they brought in. Which that encounter they had which set up the intro could have easily been staged. So all just a squirrelly coincidence/accident of some drugs that were cut with fent, or something more nefarious and intentional likely set up by Whitney. Feels like the latter. Rishi wasn't at that bar by accident and this guy wasn't either. Discredit him. OD him. Buried.

I wondered this too. The show did make a point of showing Rishii doing a separate bag in the bathroom which would explain we he didn't OD.

Overall still massively entertaining but I agree with the earlier poster that some of this feels very Succession like. It's almost like the took the business story lines from Succession and threw constant over the top Euphoria situations at it to make it wild.

And I like Kit Harrington but dang it I just can't stand his storyline. And among an entire cast of mostly unlikable characters… his storyline is just… annoying?

I love the show as a whole, I just don't love how sideways they have taken it. Still a fun watch though.

Yeah, I tend to think it was a setup but believe it is one that will remain a mystery to the audience and not be revisited, but we'll see. Agree on all your other points. I get the aspect of using the Muck character to demonstrate that Yasmin is a predator like her dad, but that could have been done a million different ways. Muck has been the most annoying character and worst storyline for 2 seasons IMO.
