On one hand I really liked it as well - it certainly took a bold turn, in more ways than one - but on the other hand it's kind of insane how this show has, in total, essentially "killed off" four of its best characters... Gus, Rob, Rishi, and now Eric, all in somewhat unsatisfying fashion, the last two at such random, unexpected times in the season. It just feels a bit too much like they're going for cheap shock value, especially when all we're left with is ****ing Harper, Yasmin, and sad sack Henry.

My thoughts as well.
Amazing episode, but we keep losing characters I like.

I was annoyed with myself that it did not hit me until this episode that Halberstram has to be a reference to American Psycho.

Originally I wasn't sure what I thought about the Epstein angle they introduced in this episode and whether it's kind of brilliant or lazy. The more I've thought about it the more I'm not only on board with it, but it's kind of genius when I think about how it's interwoven with so much of what's happened to so many characters this season. Whitney has been an absolute agent of chaos this season, he'll be in the argument for the best single season character on Industry. I feel like I'm going to need to rewatch this whole season as soon as it's done to piece it all together because I know I haven't been picking up on everything.

If that's the last we see of Eric it's a real bummer, especially since that means it's just that much more screen time for Harper.

To me, if they had ended the series after season 3, it would have been more than fine with the demise of PierPoint. Season 1 was just meah to me, and if it had not been for this board saying good things about the show, I would have quit, but I am glad I did with Season 3 being the best!

After episodes 1-3 of season 4, I almost gave up on the show. It finally picked up with 04-04, and will see it to the end. I agree that they are getting rid of too many main characters just for shock value is not a good thing. Eric and Harper interactions in the show along with Sweet Pea are the best parts of this season.

Do we really need a season 5???......

I will never understand the tragic-but-enduring Harper/Yasmin friendship that the showrunners have been trying to force on us as the heart of the show since season two. When they're simply two of the worst characters on any prestige drama, the plights for whom I could not care about less.

To be clear, I don't need characters to be "likable." But if they're going to be such terrible/ugly/broken human beings, I need them to at least be interesting. Or entertaining. Or funny (intentionally or unintentionally). Or meme-able. Like the Roys on Succession. All utterly despicable people, but each "endearing" in their own ways.

Harper and Yasmin have NONE of those qualities. Like, not even a hint. Yet the show treats them like this iconic, on-again-off-again duo we've been utterly invested in for years now.

It's just so baffling.

Is Industry, even like this, still better than just about everything else on TV? Yes. Is the filmmaking top notch and the soundtrack full of bangers? No doubt.

But good lord the show would be so much better with Rob, Eric, Sweetpea, or literally anyone else at the center of it.

I can't ****ing stand Harper. Such an unlikeable *******.

I don't mind Yasmin, I feel bad for her.

Really good episode that had great tension. Felt very similar to The Wire where the politics and business got mixed up. But the last 5 minutes were terrible. In the real world Harper and Yas would hate each other instead of trauma bonding on mdma at a club. Their relationship is forced on the viewer and it's unnecessary to the show at this point. Girl power I guess.

Agreed with all you said. They have left so much on the table, if you will. Could have gone from a good to great show to riveting and one of the best.... oh well...

One thing to add. Henry, what a waste of character....

Music and soundtrack, yes, top notch!

Did you miss the part where they stood on Yas's dad's sailboat and watched him drift off to drown? They're bonded at this point.

Man I forgot about that. I seem to remember Harper really screwing Yaz over professionally but Yaz is not a serious person so I guess she forgives that stuff. Good call on that. I find Henry to be really interesting and I enjoy his character. The shoot for him is elite.

Where will they even take the show from here? Hopefully not more watching the demise of Henry. Can't stand that storyline.

Idk, episode 7 felt kinda rushed and lazy. Why pour SO much time into showing the dude's manipulation of Henry earlier in the season when it's so obvious what direction they're going and how this ends? Still entertaining and still will watch until the very end but dang I think this thing is running out of gas.
