Curious to see what the rest of the album is like. Wondering if they are all going to be shorter like that one.

77 minute album over 12 songs. 74 minutes left for the remaining 11.

Damn that's a great riff. Some straight ahead Kill em All vibes on this one.

Not sure if I'm more excited for the album or the date with Wolf Van Halen/PANTERA

Haven't gotten into much Metallica since Black, but I did like some of Death Magnetic and Hardwired. Hopefully this album will follow the mold of this song. Sounds really Motorhead-inspired. Early thrash/punk but more modern. Love the song and crossing my fingers the rest of the album isn't Load/Reload.

The riffs are decent but the vocals are just terrible. I won't listen to anything after ...and justice... though so there was basically zero chance I would get down with this.

There are a combined 10 songs from L/RL never played live, with another 6 songs played less than 10 times.. I don't think they like them all that much either lol. That's 60% of those songs from that era with little to no representation in concert.

Every other song in their catalog has been played except a few off St Anger and Hardwired.

I love L/RL era though. Glad I got to see Fixxer (premiered 24 years after release!), Outlaw torn, bleeding me, hero of the day and low man's lyric all live.

No Black Album? Too slow and rhythmic? Just curious. I know several hardcore metal/death metal heads who hated it and consider it a sellout "pop" album, but I am glad I can enjoy it.

The Black Album is an all-time classic. And all the people who crap on it today were rocking it when it came out.

I've always thought there was a grey area of the black album, honestly. It isn't completely new Metallica but it isn't completely old Metallica. I dont listen to it but I dont particularly dislike it.

To me it just got overplayed. Don't Tread On Me is one of the only songs I still like from that album because of that,

and just to note; 'still enjoy metallica' making it sound like they are waning in popularity.. in actuality, I think they are bigger than they ever were. I've followed them pretty hard core for 30 years now, and man.. the symphony 20 shows, the 40 anny shows, the danny wimmer festivals, the acoustic shows, the blacklist tribute, the club shows a few years ago..
They've been on fire for a while now.

For every guy like sea speed, there are 2 youngins hearing them for the first time and are hooked.
And these guys are turning 60 next year (well Kirk just a few days ago)

funny, I hear that song all the time on siriusxm these days.

Misery was the highlight of that album for me.

Phil & Rex so both living members with Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante from Anthrax. I wasn't planning on going because it isn't Pantera to me without Dime and Vinnie (but mostly Dime) but I guess I will now.

I haven't listened to SiriusXM is a long time so I pretty much control 100% of what I hear these days which means I completely skip that album for the most part.

Huh. I guess if you can't get Vinnie or Dime (and you can't, for obvious reasons), those are reasonable substitutes.

Love Charlie and I think he will be killer as a stand in for Vinnie. I like Zakk as a solo artist but I'm wary that he will be able to play these songs sounding like Dime and not Zakk. I don't really want to hear the latter.

I have the black album and like it. I'm not a metal fan, nor do I have any other metal or Metallica albums. The black album was intended for an audience like me. Obviously many true metal fans do not like it, which is fine. We are all free to choose the music we want to listen to.
