Will do, if I can squeeze it in.
Yeah I think 5 will cut it. Just know that Hayden Panetierre is a survivor from Scream 4. 5 leans heavily on 1 anyway and the stuff you miss from 3/4 are more easter eggs I would think

Not sure how it got an audience score of 94%.

I'm watching Scream 5 to catch up, and enjoying it, but man this main actress is terrible. Jenna Ortega and basically everyone else is acting circles around her. Sucks, because I've seen her in the trailers for 6, so she obviously survives…

This is so f-ing dumb. But also still kind of fun. Mostly just dumb, though.

So they cast the crazy psycho killer girl from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood *as* the killer, set her on fire just like Leo did, and even had her flair her arms and scream in exactly the same way as when she wouldn't die in that movie either? Was this supposed to be some kind of weird homage? What the hell was that?

Overall, I'm now both less excited for 6, but also somehow more interested, I guess given that I know the players now.

Either way, I can't believe 5 came out just last year and they already turned around a sequel. I would have swore 5 came out in like 2018 or something, as I have zero recollection of it releasing in 2022. I also just read that Paramount wants to be filming on 7 by October, which is insane.

I loved 5 and could have sworn it came out in 2021. But this time last year feels like a fever dream because my job situation sucked. Thankfully a lot better now.

I've seen this sentiment a lot. But mainly people not liking her.

I don't find her to be terrible, just a bit bland. I will say she's better in 6, imo.

She was bad in Scream 5, but they redeemed the character on this one. She's a badass

Hope you get a good crowd. I saw it with a fairly responsive crowd that interacted with the movie a bit and that makes for a super fun experience.

Nice. Doing the Alamo Drafthouse downtown, which is usually a good crowd. It's sold out, at least.

My boy Stu is really dead. I really thought he was going to show up and Kyrbie was going to be the killer as well after tracking him down with her FBI tracking ***** I mean, Quinn's death was faked, why couldn't Stu's? The reveal wasn't the greatest and the acting by the father was a bit hokey but this was one of the best Screams of the franchise. New rules, more blood, Ghostface with a shotgun. ****, that might be my new band name. Great movie. So ****ing cool.

There was that one line from Mindy saying "If you believe he's really dead". There's still a chance, if a small one. He could be the guy orchestrating the whole thing and running the fan site that spawned Richie and Amber.

For the sixth movie in a horror franchise it wasn't bad, and I was certainly entertained, but I wouldn't consider it one of the best of the franchise. Maybe somewhere in the middle? Admittedly, I was the most surprised by the Ghostface reveal - as in I was the most clueless I've ever been as to the identity of the killer(s) - but I think that was mainly due to the reveal being so random and over-the-top, even by Scream standards. And while I appreciated the change of scenery by placing it "New York," I really wish they would have actually *shot* in New York. Instead, they shot in Montreal and, as Canadian productions often do, it just felt like some super generic urban setting. I wanted New York to feel like a character in and of itself, with all its warts and charm and distinct look/vibe, but instead it just felt like any number of random CW shows, except with a greenscreened Central Park.

Again, overall I had fun, the audience seemed into too, and it's cool/encouraging to see it doing so well at the box office. But I have absolutely no idea where they go from here, as this is all starting to feel like a retread of a retread, and I just don't know how much more they can milk from the core concept, as even this one is sliced pretty thin (no pun intended).

Eh, I feel like this movie isn't for ya. It's for the core four.

Hell, he was supposed to be the main villain in 3. I'm not sure how they would keep his non death a secret this whole time, but they kinda opened that door with Quinn somehow being alive after being killed. I mean, they switched bodies somehow? In that short of time? That part made no sense but the rest of the movie was top notch. It might be the best Scream since Scream or Scream 2. Loved it.

Yeah, admittedly that part was the biggest stretch of the movie.

Either that or buying into the fact that Quinn, a 130 lb girl, is tossing Gale's boyfriend around like a ragdoll. But whatever, that's basically a series staple at this point, with Ghostface being supernatural pretty much.

They did that with 4 as well with two different killers posing way different heights and yet all looked the same. Yeah, you dawn the mask...you gain the power. lol I mean, the mask though, it was weathered, I figured it would be Stu's! Dang it!

Saw this last night. The story was a bit thin, but its a slasher movie so low expectations there to begin with. However, this might be the most thrilling entry in the franchise since Scream 2. In a lot of ways, this felt like an homage to that movie the way Scream 5 was to the original. Several scenes were very tense/thrilling. I especially liked the ladder scene, the subway scene, and Gale's big scene.

I also love the dynamic they keep playing with Sam. That was a nice hook at the end of 5 and I enjoyed that piece in this movie. She isn't just a survivor like Sydney, she is kind of being tempted by the killings at the same time. I am excited to see that play out more going forward.

Complaints: The movie pulled all its punches. I guess with 7 being green-lit, they are going to build to some big finale (making it a saga instead of a franchise....ewwwww) and want as much to play with as possible, so thats fine, but almost everyone in this movie got stabbed in the stomach at some point and most of them did not die, and in fact, ran around quite a bit afterward.

My brother has been playing catch up on the series and we were watching Scream 4 over the weekend. I will never understand why horror movies make hospitals look like the most empty buildings on the planet. Like there aren't 10-15 people running around on every floor of those buildings

Projected to do $18.4M this weekend for a solid -59% drop. (For horror especially.)

That will leave it less than $5M from overtaking the previous film's total domestic take.

Knowing the Scream franchise, in the movie there may be some gag about recasting characters in sequels or something like that.

They could replace her with Susan Sarandon...

oh... wait...

Personally, I'm glad certain people are being outed at this point for their personal insane viewpoints on something they literally know nothing on the subject. They have the freedom to say what they want, but that doesn't protect you from certain consequences, like losing your job.
