Holy Grail. Watched it every chance I got. This was in the Dark Ages before VCRs, and the only way to watch British comedy was our local PBS station.

Ghostbusters. Saw it 11 times in the theater the summer it was released. My buddy and I would get to the ticket booth, intending to see something else, and then buy another ticket to Ghostbusters anyway.

Only?

I used to go in waves re-watching movies. All of the Star Wars OT, Alien, Aliens, Smokey and the Bandit, Jaws, 1941, Die Hard, and strangely enough, The Living Daylights, have all been on repeated watching on whatever tiny TV I had back in my younger days, high school through A&M. As a parent and working software engineer, I have not found time to simply re-watch the same movie repeatedly as I used to.

Years ago, I would put a movie on before bed. My rotation was typically Star Wars, Groundhog Day, Goodwill Hunting, and Forrest Gump.

I've seen Jaws more than any other movie, but I don't think I've ever watched it repeatedly. When I was about 10, I had an obsession with Young Guns and watched it almost daily. I think it was on HBO back when HBO would show the same 5 movies over and over again for a month before they changed to new movies. A few years later, I did the same thing with Tremors and Robin Hood (Kevin Costner version). I watched them almost daily for an entire summer.

I've seen Honey, I Shrunk the Kids 100s of times as a kid.

Cant stand to watch the same movie more than once now, unless it was really really good.

As kids, when we rented VHS tapes from Blockbuster we would frequently watch a movie, rewind, and immediately watch again. I guess b/c you never knew when you'd be able to watch again.

Yep. Having HBO as a kid in the 80's it wasn't unusual at all to watch the same movies 15 times in a month until the switch out at the beginning of the following month.

As a kid I would throw on the same VHS tapes for months at a time.

I wore out a copy of E.T. so that's probably the one I did it the most with. But there's a bunch of movies I saw repeatedly.

Off the top of my head...

E.T.
Home Alone 2
Aladdin
The Lion King
Back to the Future
Ace Ventura
The Mask
The Sandlot
Mighty Ducks 2
Ghost of Andrew Eaton

I presume the OP isn't referring to what your kids make you put on over and over again...

For me, Jurassic Park, Top Gun, OT Star Wars, and Austin Powers 1+2 were frequent flyers on the VHS, then DVD player back in the day.

JP is still my auto-pilot choice when I have nothing particular in mind to watch.

My cousin had a VHS of Moonraker he recorded off of HBO. We watched that a zillion times back in the day.

I've never seen Finding Nemo but can quote a ton of it.

We used to have it on in the car when we went places and my kids would watch it nonstop.

They didn't use the headphones because mom could never figure out how to play it in the headphones and music on her end, so we just got used to listening to movies.

Summer before Senior year we had Shakes the Clown on 24/7. Some roommate rented it and then bailed so the tape became property of the house; the only time it wasn't playing was when it was rewinding and when we were passed out.

As a parent when the kids were growing up...every Pixar movie released before 2010, Nausicaa Valley of the Wind and this odd 6 month period when my daughter only wanted to watch the Jim Carry's The Grinch or Lilo and Stich.

My junior year at A&M I had the American Psycho DVD in my TV for at least 2 months and watched most or all of it nightly. Eventually my girlfriend asked me why I was talking "like that" and that's when I realized I probably needed to change movies.
