Cox is a world famous DJ but The Prodigy is the band that introduced industrial/electronic in the 90s.

These are DJ's? I don't know Carl Cox or Prodigy

Carl Cox is probably the most respected interational DJ of all time. And you definitely know the Prodigy if you ever lived through the 90s and ever turned on MTV in its prime.

I watched Billy Strings from the couch last night. Show came to an abrupt end. I had friends there in Charlotteseville and I asked what the hell happened in real time. They said they couldn't tell but that EMT was on the scene taking someone out on a stretcher.

Turns out it was Billy. Dude decided to skateboard between the end of the second set and what would have been encore and broke either his ankle or leg.

I had just said to my buddy the night before that it makes me nervous seeing Billy post all these videos skating and reminded him of the Beastie Boys tour that got canceled because Mike D fell off his bike and shattered his wrist/arm.

Worst jinx ever on my part.

i think you could argue it was. While non musical programming was its downfall; it peaked in 90s with real world road rules, liquid tv, John Stewart, mtv sports, celebrity deathmatch and beavis and butthead. Then you had gems like unplugged, trl, mtv jams, the grind, alternative nation.

Maybe the 80s artists/music itself were peak over 90s. But that is another discussion.

Bringing in a lot of crap that had nothing to do with music was what made it so bad.

but it was good in the 90s. I mean B&B and real world are both classic.
It was after that first wave of success of non music that they jumped the shark and it got bad quick.

"Well, can't say y'all didn't warn me about screwing around on my skateboard!! Saturday night I walked off stage right before the encore I was all zazzed up from a really fun show. I grabbed my board and tried to do a trick I've done a million times (back 180) and landed awkwardly and broke my leg. I heard it snap over the screaming crowd!! Sounded like a damn 2x4. It's been an interesting couple days to say the least complete with the most extreme pain and crazy ketamine trips and operations stuff but the staff here at UVA rules. They screwed me all back together. They are absolute angels on Earth.

I had every intention of carrying on with the tour and Dave Grohling it. He even texted me and offered me the throne! I really don't want to let anybody down, but after some long talks with these doctors, my friends, band and colleagues, my wife etc.. I should probably let this thing heal. I don't believe that I could give you guys the show you deserve coming right out of this surgery and these first few days are really important as far as keeping this thing elevated and letting it heal. Plus I'm all messed up on pain killers and stuff. It's a dumb ass mistake and it's all my fault .. I feel like such an idiot. But what are ya gonna do , ya know? At least I didn't hit my head or break my wrist or something."

Real World?

You mean Fake World?

Every season was:

Moody foreigner of some persuasion

Struggling artist/writer/musician/singer

Conservative person/cop/veteran

Minority/gay/lesbian and really militant about it

Some kind of love interest between at least two characters

Caught the last Sphere show by The Eagles on 11 APR. Jaw-dropping is a pretty good way to describe the backdrop when you walk up. If you end up seeing a show there definitely try to sit in the 200s. Good combo of seeing the show/band. I can't imagine sitting in the very bottom and seeing both without having a huge neck ache.

Pretty much what I'd always dreamed their show would be like, 100% recommend seeing them if you haven't. Opening with Hotel California gave me goosebumps.

I went to Sphere over the weekend for one night of Phish and the place is absolutely bonkers. In addition to the screen and visuals the sound in the place is superb.

I cannot recommend it enough.

I noticed if you scroll artists, I didn't see Muse, but if I search muse, they are included. So kinda weird.

Best way (assuming you only want local) is to scroll through the venues that populate based on your city.

I'm pissed Muse has damn near every show, except Denver which they play at a AXS amphitheater.

I also don't understand why for example, Breaking benjamin is an option for houston at woodlands, but BB in Denver at Ball arena doesn't show up, even though several other shows at Ball arena do show up.

I'm gonna guess it's because Ticketmaster/Live Nation sucks and is mad at someone in Denver.

Took wife to Stevie Nicks on Saturday up at Winstar. At 78, she still got it! Voice has not changed at all. I'm not a fan of hers but wife loved it and all that mattered.

I think it's more to do with Anschutz, a man with strong ties to Denver, who owns AEG/AXS.

Going to see Alter Bridge in Houston tonight, but first I'm going to a guitar clinic with Mark Tremonti at noon. I went to the one he did before the Creed show in the Woodlands and it's a pretty cool deal. 45 minute kind of demo/clinic on songwriting and his practice techniques followed by a stage tour and run down of his live rig.

Fun ass time in Midland tonight - the West Texas crowd didn't pull much, made for almost an intimate show, but sh*t if COC & Clutch didn't play like it was a sold out arena … fun times for a 'passing thru town' show to San Antonio

Has anybody ever heard of the upgrade option on AXS? I hadn't until an hour ago when my buddy told me. We have 3rd row BALC center for Joe Russo's Almost Dead tomorrow night at ACL Live. If you're not familiar with them, they are the greatest Grateful Dead tribute band that has ever existed.

So my buddy told me there was a single pair for sale front row dead center Mezzanine. I went online and grabbed them for only $20 extra each and now we'll suddenly be in the single best spot in the entire venue. I cannot freaking wait.

Then Lukas Nelson in Waco Saturday at the Hippodrome Theatre. I'd never even heard of it but apparently it's a 100 year old building and small theatre. Should be great.
