I like some of her stuff (and at 70+ she's still gorgeous) but Christine was better.

JLo doesn't do anything for me, but then again, I don't really find her all that talented. She was just good at capitalizing on the right opportunities.

Justin Timberlake is my addition. I can admit that he's got some skills, but I've never understood the crazy gushing over the dude.

Jackson Pollock. Paint splatters is not art.

Also Picasso. Some of that stuff looks like my kids' refrigerator art.

I always thought Pollock was overrated until I saw a few of his pieces. I think they're pretty remarkable, almost like the talent was knowing when enough was enough. But I totally understand why people don't like his stuff and I think that's the cool thing about art in general.

Post Malone

Dude is crazy talented and can do anything. He chose hip-hop and I'm just not a fan of that sound.

But...He is immensely talented and I respect that.

What are some of your favorite bands in that genre? I think diamonds and gasoline is an amazing album, but haven't listened to much of their other stuff.

I absolutely loved Olivia Newto John back in the day.
Then she did a concert at G Rollie that bored me to tears. I swear she did not move muscle the entire concert. Her albums had more life than she displayed in that concert.

Artists I respect but can't get into

Pearl Jam (voice, like You Are a lot though)
Rush (voice)

I'm a big Springsteen and Dylan fan, but get why they annoy.

Bruce is honest at least, and a hard worker … he's a fake working class guy and always said his dad was the real one.

Dylan….I have many takes about him. Leaves amazing stuff off, makes many awful decisions of lyrics, song inclusion, album production … BUT his highs are amazing. He's a vocalist more than a singer, trawling the American songbook for inspiration / theft. However, his vocal talent and arrangement ability was, when he chose, top tier: listen to Before the Flood.

Feel the same about Dylan. A lot of meh, but what isn't meh is superb. Boots of Spanish Leather is one of the prettiest songs ever written/recorded IMO.

Rush
This is the most obvious answer for me. Ironically, I've probably listened to Rush more than any other artist because one of my best friends gave me their entire catalog on a thumb drive. And I've gone out of my way to listen to them and by sheer number of songs they will play randomly quite often in my shuffle.

I want to love them because they do everything that I appreciate...but that voice is just horrific. Outside of that they are incredible musicians. Some of their acoustic stuff I love. They are truly iconic and yet hard to listen to.

I can also understand Prince. Incredible talent that can't be replaced. Dude is a savant. Modern day Beethoven....but I'm assuming there is a reason no one has ever heard most of his music after the late 80s apparently of which there are thousands of songs. Would love to be proven wrong on that one.
I am always wrong

Tool
Radiohead

+1 for Radiohead.

I also used to consider Tool boring and generally a waste of my time. One day I was listening to a Tool song (or pair of songs) that came on shuffle while I was driving home from A&M for the weekend. I had heard them before but they were like 15 minutes combined and I never had the patience to wait out the dissonant beginning and try to understand how the whole song fit together. For whatever reason, on that particular day I just let it play. Something clicked during that play-through. and I suddenly understood exactly what they were doing from a musical standpoint and why they were doing it. I actually found myself tearing up during the big, soul-moving climax toward the end of the song. I was already a pretty experienced musician at that point in my life, but from then on, I listened to their music and all music in a completely different way. Now Tool is probably my favorite band if you forced me to pick one.

Bruce Springsteen
Spilner FTW. My buddy plays in Max Weinberg's Jukebox. I've never had the heart to tell him just how much I can't stand Bruce Springsteen (not that he would care anyway).

Although Bruce's guest appearance with Phish at bonnaroo 2009 for "Glory Days" I saw was pretty great.

Some of the rest of the responses in this thread are appalling. .Too many to list.

After the Boss I think my 1b most disliked has to be U2 as some have noted. I'll never get them.

1c Coldplay for sure...although are they really even that talented?

Hah, I mean even his non-duet albums. I just don't like his singing.
