Agreed. How in the world is Beyonce the most decorated artist in Grammys history?

With her powerful voice and Oklahoma roots, Carrie Underwood could have led a country music renaissance. But she opted to be just another pop singer with overproduced material and lots of costume changes.

I don't get this either but that just tells me how out of touch I am with that music scene. I can think of one of her songs and it's that ring one. That's it.

I just tried to listen to beyonce's new album. never listened to anything of hers.. but of course have heard single ladies.. maybe some of her other big hits.

That album was bad. Every song is full of fbombs, no substance in lyrics that I can discern, very little of it was listenable. A few songs had some good grooves/beat, but it just seemed like a bunch of synth noise.

And it took 100 people to produce it.

I would think the most decorated grammy artist would have music that transcends genres and is cross generational. Something I can throw on with mixed company, and most people would enjoy it.

This new album of hers is no where near any of that. A song about how she's the best that ever was, and no one can f-ing touch her, a song about ***** lips and tig ol bitties,

my god, I don't even want to go on. It's terrible.

Turnpike Troubadors

does nothing for me. And thats my favorite genre

I definitely get this, outside a few of the hits, meh. Zach Bryan is the newest add to this. Half his problem is how much he puts out, so of course a lot of it isn't going to be great.

Chris Stapleton and Jason isabel as others have noted I also agree with. Every Stapleton song sounds the same.

Switching genres, jay-z, especially later in his career.

Zach Bryan used to fit into this for me because every song sounded the exact same. He has grown on me some but the hype is definitely bigger than my opinion of him still

Taylor Swift - she's some rich man's project that forced her on us. "But she writes her own music" No she doesn't. Oh, and I've heard from 2 separate people that claim to be connected to an industry guy that says she does indeed write her own music. (eyes can't roll back far enough) If you believe that you must believe that Warby Parker gives a pair for every pair sold. If that were true then every kid in Africa would be wearing glasses.

The Weeknd - WRITE YOUR OWN SHET!!! You steal beats.
Die For You - Same beat as Feelin on yo booty!!!
Creepin is NOT your song! That's word for word Mario Williams "I don't Want to Know"
Now, with that being said... I still like those songs, LOL.

Chris Stapleton - A couple of good songs but as a whole, it's just ok.

Ryan Adams - Stop telling me I should listen to him. I gave it a shot, too depressing.

Bob Dylan - punching myself in the face.

Pink Floyd is great.

Steely Dan I could not appreciate for decades. In the last few years I really appreciate how well constructed their songs are and how well recorded and produced the albums were.

I mean... I'm willing to say the majority of popular in musicians in history are talented in some capacity... and I probably dislike the vast majority of them.

I couldn't even begin to start listing everyone that doesn't do it for me.

Probably the biggest one for me is the Beatles. I get the musicianship and importance to pop music, but I just could never get into them. I tried for years but, other than a few songs I like, I never really have the urge to listen to them. In college, I went down a deep rabbit hole of classic rock and older music, discovering so much great music that I now love, but they were one of those that didn't stick.

I bought a Beatles songbook to use to practice chord changes and stuff in the context of a song, not just exercises.

They knew ALL the chords. And at young ages. It's amazing what they did in a short time and continued to do as solo artists.

I wasn't a big Beatles fan for a long time but have really come to appreciate how talented and knowledgeable they were.

Cool to hear the stories of how they learned the chords from others. Like the E7 from the beach boys.. and this chord used in My Michelle.. here's the story

+1 for Radiohead.

I also used to consider Tool boring and generally a waste of my time. One day I was listening to a Tool song (or pair of songs) that came on shuffle while I was driving home from A&M for the weekend. I had heard them before but they were like 15 minutes combined and I never had the patience to wait out the dissonant beginning and try to understand how the whole song fit together. For whatever reason, on that particular day I just it play. Something clicked during that play-through. and I suddenly understood exactly what they were doing from a musical standpoint and why they were doing it. I actually found myself tearing up during the big, soul-moving climax toward the end of the song. I was already a pretty experienced musician at that point in my life, but from then on, I listened to their music and all music in a completely different way. Now Tool is probably my favorite band if you forced me to pick one.

If you have a good set of cans. Get whatever you do to get you to what you consider your blissed out state, and 'listen to Everything In It's Right Place'. And if that doesnt get you than it isn't for you. Fair enough.

Sounds like someone was listening to Wings Of Marie.

Actually it was Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned.

The seamless back half of the 10,000 Days album (Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned/Intension/Right in Two) is my favorite piece of music ever. For me, I don't think that will ever be topped by anything, whether it be technically, compositionallly, emotionally, or lyrically. It's perfection, especially if you're a drummer.

I like those, but nah. The complexity of what is going on rhythmically in Rosetta Stoned and Right in Two (and Intension for that matter) puts them over the top for me.

I can get there with Streep at least on the talent side, but I get the not liking her films part. I do not understand why Jennifer Lopez is even famous. Why is she both a recording artist and an actress? Why would a person buy a Jennifer Lopez album or single? Why would a person watch one of her movies? I don't understand. This has been a societal issue for just about 25 years now and I do not understand.
Agree on lopez but if you want to start questioning yourself watch u-turn.
