Interesting the last couple seasons how they reveal the winner immediately after the vote vs waiting till season aired. They all have no idea what was going on behind the scenes or how they were portrayed.

That shouldn't change the vote, just the reunion show.

I really haven't watched the last 4 seasons since Covid... this was my first season all the way through.

I really like reading the votes immediately after. It's really disorienting to me when they're all dressed up and in a studio reading the votes. I'd be fine with holding a separate reunion show that takes place live after the finale.

Having the recap right after the vote also eliminates the occasional early-season nut job from coming out there upset about whatever and griping on live TV.

I think if Jake had played anything close to a good game, he may have been able to talk his way into a win. He did really well with the jury, even as a total waste of space.

Katurah gave that game to Dee.

Katurah literally cost herself a shot and then blamed Jake. Poor guy, i was rooting for him. He loved the whole game. He did go titty baby when he stomped on the challenge.

I thought it was really sweet when Julie told Katurah to go to law school.

They were all really likable players and they did a great job casting.

Katurah is arguably the worst survivor player I've watched.

Others have had dumb mistakes and misread a situation, but she has sustained ability to misread an entire season. Reba was targetting Belo to get the numbers. Despite this, she kept on betraying her fellow Belo members when they tried to vote out Reba.

The whole "Jake is bad at Survivor and everyone hates him" narrative began when Jake (Belo) targeted Julie (Reba) and Katurah betrayed him, resulting in Kaleb going home

Bruce came up with a convincing lie about losing his idol, he shares it with her planning to vote out Belo and she immediately tells others.

She convinces Jake to vote for Dee, then switches her own vote to Julie and blames Jake for using an idol on her.

She disliked the people on her tribe (Bruce, Jake) and wanted to impress the cool kids who weren't on her tribe. Her decision making was purely emotional.

Then in the finale she delivers the zinger "I played the game with my head and not my heart"

You nailed it....especially the bolded.
One of the cool things about Survivor and reality television is that even though it is scripted....it still mimics real life.

Katurah kept betraying herself and her tribe because she wanted to be in with the better looking, cooler kids of the Reba tribe.

Its no different than in school when nerdier kids kiss the asses of the popular and rich kids to gain acess to parties and cook kid access.

I thought she was a horrible player.

I was surprised the vote was so close, but maybe that's because we saw all of Dee's machinations behind the scenes that most of them didn't know about.

Really nice how genuine the jury was. Although my daughter immediately noticed that Bruce didn't ask a question that was shown on TV. Lord only knows what he said. Nice to see Drew bounce back from his hissy fit to be a real treat at the finale. I'd tab him for a future All-Stars show. He's like if Cochran had accidentally take a growth hormone pill for a few years.
Yeah, i'm wondering what Bruce said that they edited out.

My guess he was probably a butthurt jury member and everyone else was so positive they wanted to keep the vibe.
No offense.....but one of the terms I can't stand in the Survivor universe is " butthurt jury member "

Survivor was a better show when people took getting backstabbed very seriously.
I'm not a fan of this new era: "its just a game...and its okay that you talked trash about me behind my back....and you screwed me out of $Million, and made me look foolish on TV"

I also preferred old school Survivor when players would get screwed at the Final Tribal Council if they talked too much chit during the season.

butthurt jury member would say screw you....I'm voting for the other guy just to be spiteful.
This was the old days........ and its probably never coming back because reality tv was still a new thing at that point.

No man... the point of the game is not to vote for the person you like the most.

Yes it is.
Survivors are free to vote for whoever they felt played the best game.
They are also free to vote for the person they liked the most.....or vote against someone they disliked.

Boston Rob and Russell Hanz each lost seasons due to hubris and poor social skills....despite being the clear "best" player of the season.....and I'm fine with that.

Season 46 tonight. So far this cast is looking like Brains vs Brains vs Brains. Maybe the dorkiest cast ever.

Worst player ever last night. Like he took a course on how to get voted off first.

Not very often do I actively ROOT for someone getting voted out. Called himself a 'legend' but did the complete opposite of everything a 'legend' would have done in those situations. Incredibly arrogant about his mental capacities and physical abilities with zero self awareness. Incapable of accepting blame.

Couple of outliers but this might be the most beta and cerebral cast ever. I anticipate lots of tears and put the over/under on panic attacks that warrant a visit from medical at 4.

Gonna be interesting for sure. I can't tell if I like Jess and if her "spaciness" is real or fake. Time will tell. And Princess I think has something going for her that makes me wanna root for her to make it to the merge.

Watched the premiere today. Second season that my daughter is watching with me (she's 12). As he and Jess sat there after they were destroyed in the channel and he talked about how he's going to make the Survivor HOF voting her out without a vote, my girl said, "Jeez, this guy is clueless."

I liked the brutality of the first season, although the 500-lb gecko seemed like an advertising prop gone bad or something. The Indian guy is an early favorite of ours. Wearing his heart on his sleeve.

Yeah, I usually feel bad for the first person voted off. When Jalenski got booted, I was like good riddance.

It's hard to imagine that anyone who has watched Survivor enough to apply and actually get on the show could have that lack of self awareness and be so poorly prepared to play the game.
