Guns n Roses - twice in the 90s and once in 2017.
Willie Nelson - twice in the 90s.

I saw them both twice during their peak years. And yes, Willie was still peaking in the early 90s. He sounded fantastic.

I've seen a lot of bands more than those two, but the more time passes, the more I realize the value of having seen those legends multiple times when they were at that level.

I came here to also post the Toadies. I don't have a count, but they were around CS a lot when I was in school. I can certainly say it was WELL less than 27 times.

Chicago - probably 25 times

Did you get to see them with Terry Kath? I would have loved to see him.

Luckily, yes. I think I saw them with Terry 7 times, including shortly before he left us. He was beyond amazing, much better in concert than on recordings. Terry truly was the heart & soul of Chicago. RIP, Great Spirit.

Bon Jovi opening for Ratt - I was there too! That's usually my go to when discussing craziest opening act.

Think I've seen Def Leppard 20 times now. First show I went to cost 25 dollars and the last was the Crue stadium tour.

This was December '85 at The Summit. Jon Bon Jovi sang "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town".

Ratt was ok. Kind of a letdown. DeMartini was great though.

"Last year we went Round and Round! This year we're gonna Lay It Dowwnnnn!"

Less than 12 months later Slippery When Wet was released and Bon Jovi never opened for anyone again. While Ratt ended up on Behind the Music and Geico commercials.

Springsteen twice, but the second time they took the stage 90 minutes late with no explanation or apology and a very eclectic play list that was not well received.

For me it's Dave Matthews Band. Started going to their concerts once a year when I was 14 (now 35) and then double dipped in a handful of years as I got older. I think I'm at 28. This year will be for sure 29 in the Woodlands and possibly 30 if I head up to Dallas the next night.
There's something about Dave Matthews Band that really gets people hooked. I have a cousin that has been to 132 shows. They've come to know some of the band more personally over time and they are all really nice people.

Very jealous of these 3! Which concert was your favorite from each of them, if you had to pick?

That's like picking your favorite kid. The first PJ and Deftones concerts jump out because of their rawness and somewhat intimate settings. All of the Tool concerts are tied, though the '19 SA and '20 NO shows might have a slight edge. All amazing and memorable.

Saw PJ 4 times

First time was PJ opening for Soundgarden in a hollowed out grocery store in Houston (Unicorn Bowl) in '92. Instead of encore for Soundgarden, they closed with Temple of the Dog.

Hilarious, same thing here except I'm twenty years older than you. Started with HORDE festival and haven't missed a year since. Some years Dallas and Houston. Firedancer internet high-five!

I'm so jealous of y'all that saw SRV live. I can only imagine.

The biggest surprise I've ever seen was at Rock 101 Fall Jam back in the late '90's. It was one of the G3 tours. My wife and I are hanging out up on the lawn at The Woodlands. Between two of the guitarists this middle age dude comes out with an acoustic guitar and a stool. Everyone kind of looking at each other like who the f is this guy? He sits down and it was some of the most amazing guitar. Short set but by the end everyone is going crazy for this guy. Adrian Legg.

Was that venue known as the International Ballroom in 1995? I saw Corrosion of Conformity open for Megadeth at a place that definitely had been a Kroger.
