Another Billy Gibbons story. Ran into him at a guitar show in Houston years ago (I think he was there with Elwood). He was only signing paper (and not any guitars, pedals, etc). He used to talk about using a Peso as as a pick (for pinch harmonics) to get that "international" sound. A guitar-playing friend had given me a peso to try out BFG's technique and I had it in my pocket that day. He seemed genuinely surprised and autographed the coin for me, It's still my lucky charm probably 30 years later.

I was leaving the office one day when I was working in south Florida. I open the door and standing there was Lawrence f***ing Taylor. Arguably the scariest looking human I've come across. I said nothing, held the door open for him and his lady friend, he said thank you. So LT said thank you to me, he showed Joe Theisman no such courtesy on the football field. I thought it was cool of him to not injure or kill me.

I wouldn't necessarily say the coolest person I've met but the most famous has to be Tiger Woods when he was 16 and I was 14 at the Byron Nelson. Have a sweet program signed by him, Payne Stewart, Phil Mickelson, and many other legends.

I was on a flight to Toronto, the people near me smelled awful. So I moved next to Ashley told him why only to learn it was him, lol.

He had played a private gig in Mexico for a week and hadn't showered. The next 4 hours were stories of playing at the opening ceremony in the Winter Olympics in Canada, running for Prime Minister there, his legal issues.

Dude was interesting as hell and super friendly.

I recall his claims in a guitar magazine interview about using a peso that was buffed down as a pick.
