New trailer for season 2 of SNW dropped a couple of hours ago. Thought we could get a thread started.
They're obviously going to play on the sexual tension between Spock and Christine Chapel like they did in the first season IMO. *Doctor M'Benga has entered the game* But you know anything can happen.CondensedFogAggie said:
As long as it's about professionals being professionals while on duty and not cry and weeping in every situation, I'm in.

First episode yesterday was pretty good.
Good gosh, I want to play doctor with nurse chapel so bad. Sexy sexy sexy.
I've enjoyed this, but its flaws are pretty glaring. For one thing, a military ship captain that defers to groupthink and likes to serve yuppie style group dinners!? That alone isnt that big of a deal but the failure of understanding of human nature it requires tends to pervade other plot lines. That said, there were 3 or 4 episodes that i recall liking quite a bit.Southlake said:
Pike gets better every episode. He doesn't take himself too seriously while still leaving no doubt that he's capable in command.
I thought the trial was going to be boring, but it turned out to be excellent.
But now that timeline has been adjusted from when Pike went to the future and No. 1 was still in prison.
a genocidal maniac child. Giving him a gun is just helping him along his path.bobinator said:
Episode 3 was fun. Pretty sure our girl left a loaded gun in a child's room though.
C@LAg said:she is my least favorite character on this show (next to Carol Kane's Pelia) , and I groaned when I realied she was going to be the main focus for this episode, but overall I liked it.bobinator said:

That said, I think she fell for Kirk way too quickly, But kudos to the writers for trying to round off some of her rough edges and make her more likable.
And also for not falling for the easy trope of making her a lesbian.
Sorry, I meant show up and speak to La'anC@LAg said:she was talking to Pike and No 1 at the end?jabberwalkie09 said:
Catching back up on the season. Episode 3 definitely felt better and 2 was clearly the series' court room episode. At the end of this week's episode I was wondering if Pelia might show up but guess not.
Right, the awkward look from in front of the captain didn't really do that for me. The other thing that bothered me was that Pelia should have had some kind of familiarity with La'an. Other than making sure the all is right with the galaxy, we were left with her being essentially in the same place she was before. Maybe even worse since she can't talk about her adventure in the past with alternate timeline James Kirk.bobinator said:
Yeah I thought they'd close the loop on that somehow also. Some kind of knowing nod or something.
I disagree. She met Kirk and La'an before the fork in the road (destruction of the reactor or Khan's death). She should still recall her. Only plausible excuses are that she did too much booze and forgot or that she's lived for so long that her memories mix/blend together. That doesn't really jive since she clearly remembers Pythagoras.C@LAg said:but that timeline was destroyed.bobinator said:

she knows nothing.
she is from a long-lived species, not a semi-omnipotent one like Guinan.
Right, M'Bega's comment about her being alone then the events of the episode just puts her back emotionally where she was at the start.bobinator said:
Also expected it/thought it would have been a nice touch that someone else remembered since the whole episode was about her going through things alone.
