Good for them for trying this.

This season is really fun, just caught the last two episodes.

This show has found that magic that TOS and TNG had of having a fun group of characters and then mixing them up in different subgroups and just giving them a different sandbox to play in each week. Sometimes it's silly and sometimes it's more serious, but just a fun watch.

Ok, I really wasn't liking this episode but I have to admit I laughed my *** off at the ending.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

I agree with all this. I thought this week's story was one of the weaker ones. But it was still enjoyable seeing the characters and their development.

OMG that might have been the best episode of this series. The casting for Boimler was great, I wish he was a permanent part of the show.

This whole season has been filled with some fun episodes and a few that have given me TOS vibes. I also wonder how much of an influence The Orville has had in this new take on Star Trek?

Not watching lower decks was absolutely the correct decision. Absolutely terrible.

You just get that feeling that, after the musical, things are going to go really dark.

The Gorn episode is coming.

Hoping Pelia gets smoked.

Opens the way for a certain, Scottish, engineer.

They certainly made Strange New Worlds feel like an episode of Lower Decks with all of the references to other Star Trek characters and events. (Anybody else catch the line from Ransom that Una was the hottest first officer ever?)

Ransom, who is played by Jerry O'Connell, who is married to...Rebecca Romijn.

Well, it was certainly very dark. Just happened earlier than I thought

Next week, The Musical

Last episode THE GORN

Another Clint Howard Star Trek episode. TOS, DS9, Enterprise, Discovery and now STW. Is Jeffrey Combs the only one with more characters?

That was an awesome episode. As fun and silly as this show can be you almost forget it can dial it up when it wants to.

That was fantastic. They took a throwaway doctor from TOS in M'Benga and made an amazing backstory. For all the lousy writing in Marvel and other places this is superb stuff.

I normally don't rewatch episodes but I feel like I missed a lot of detail in those flashbacks. It's definitely getting a rewatch.

Really good episode once again. M'Benga is a great character.

By the way, the Klingon ambassador was Bunny Colvin from The Wire.

This episode was sponsored by the Klingon Solid Gold Dancers!

I don't care what you'll think, I thought that was great! An episode that you'll love or hate for sure.

Not a fan. Wish they'd have used that episode as part 1 if a 2 part season finale about the Gorn.

It worked surprisingly well. I was honestly shocked at how well the cast sang, especially Anson Mount and Ethan Peck.

Both the musical and the Lower Decks episode were more like Farscape episodes

Well that was different. They actually did a good job of making the lyrics very sciency. And if anything it made Nurse Chapel even hotter.

Auto tune is a powerful tool.

No doubt. But I had read that a few of the main cast had singing/musical experience already. It was really somewhat of a miracle/coincidence that they had enough that can sing. I doubt you'll see such a musical in any other series any time soon.

Yep. That was pretty far out there, but I was into it! I completely LOL'ed at Spock saying "I doubt we will be bunnies"

Bummer that Kirk shot down La'an though.
