All they had to do to "fix" the ending of Fury was:
1. Change the scenario from a senior NCO basically guilting his men in to staying to defend The Fury to him and his men staying because they had no other choice. In other words, because of the position of the advancing Germans they stood a better chance or surviving staying with the tank instead of fleeing.
2. The commanding German officer of the unit that assaulted The Fury would have been shot by own men for ordering wave after wave of infantry to die like that. It was final days of the war. The war was lost and they knew it. Germans were surrendering to British and American troops by hundreds of thousands. Just tone that scene down. Such a great movie didn't need a ridiculously huge body count end.
And for F's sake. Why did they store the extra ammo outside of the tank? LOL.
