I'll just listen to the soundtrack and imagine the movie is great.

The most excited I've ever been about technology; Tesla created a robot that had some intention of killing Jared Leto.

Is Jared Leto going to be marketable going forward? He seems to be in the worst films. And he's a weirdo.

Will someone chime in on why Jared Leto is disliked so greatly?

Are the films bad because of him, or can he only get hired for bad writing?

A) He's super weird/pretentious and basically an eccentric freak. Goes WAY too method behind-the-scenes for certain roles, is a big-time new-age hippie in the most annoying ways, etc, etc.

B) He's been accused multiple times by multiple women of sexual misconduct, predatory behavior, and even flirting with teenagers. Basically, he's a notorious creep in that regard who's been on the verge of "cancellation" for years.

He seems like a guy who is good in an interesting supporting role but should never be the lead guy. I've only ever seen him in FIght Club, Dallas Buyers, Gucci, and Suicide Squad. Until today I didn't even realize he was in FIght Club.

He seems to take his "craft" way too seriously, sort of like the impression James Franco used to give of being some sort of high-brow artist who doesn't seem to realize that he's really overacting and in some really bad movies.

The fact that he looks a lot like reality TV grade-Z level scumbag Scott Disick isn't helping him either.

Going to see it regardless. If it sucks, it sucks. I'm loving the soundtrack, so I hope it's a somewhat redeeming quality.

Besides, I'm not going to let critics tell me what I should and shouldn't watch. I'd rather judge for myself.

Yeah Leto lived behind my ex when he had the house on Cahuenga. We would see him at least once a week driving his crazy Bronco around along with girls who looked like they were cutting class.

If you like Tron, you'll like this movie. I enjoyed it. As noted, the soundtrack is killer. This aint no RT 90 percenter but its solid. I saw it on the IMAX screen which I recommend if you can.

Screw the critics. I enjoyed that.

Definitely recommend IMAX 3D for this one. Gotta feel that score pounding in your chest. And this is the good 3D. Very immersive.

Way more of a sequel to the original Tron than to Legacy. A lot of cool stuff for fans of the original movie for sure.

If I have one complaint it's that the final act felt pretty rushed. I felt the movie could've used an extra 20 minutes. Everything gets wrapped up pretty quickly and easily IMO.

Saw it with the kids today. Music and visuals are amazing. Story isn't amazing, but itbis fine. I usually find Jared Letto to be annoying, but he was fine as Aeres
His acting style worked as a computer program/ AI. My biggest annoyance was that Aeres is supposed to be an AI soldier sold to the military and he looks like a hippie.

I actually enjoyed that way more than I thought. The stylist and the music were 10/10 no notes. Action set pieces great. There is a surprise (not a cameo) for a section of the plot that really surprised me and brought me a lot of joy. Plot was average but was elevated by the music and the imagery.

I am really sad I didn't get to share this with my dad. He loved tron and I know he said he was excited for this before he passed

I echo a lot of what others have said. It's visually stunning. The music is great. The plot is ok, but the action sequences were fun.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Screw the critics.

The movie was fun. Only complaint was they should have picked a different actress for Eve. Not someone whose background was voice overs.

Box office mojo has Fridays estimated domestic gross as 14.6 million….fridays are usually higher than saturdays and Sundays are lowest so if I had to guess the weekend domestic gross will be around the high 30 million / low 40 million range….

Pretty sure I read the budget was around 180 million so yeah this'll be a bust….

I predicted this would not surpass the domestic performance of the last one but I figured it would domestically still gross over 100 million….looks like that could be a stretch at this point….

The only thing it has going for it is there's not much competition right now in theaters….

For reference Tron legacy did 172 million domestic when it came out in 2010

Production and marketing budget reported at $330M. Another ouchie coming for Disney.

Mel Brooks had it right, although afterbirth might be too kind.

Wife and I just saw it and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Leto was quite good and believable in his portrayal of Ares, and Greta Lee was fantastic. It's visually stunning, and I won't belabor the outstanding score other than to mention the brief callback to the original Tron theme which was a fun addition. While I suppose the fan service might seem too much for some, for many of us who saw the original in a theater in 1982 (and there were clearly several of us in the half-full Sunday matinee) let out a cheer when Ares...um, yeah.

Anyway, it was fun, there's no discernable Disney messaging nonsense, and I'll be seeing it again in IMAX 3D (today was our local small booze theater). It's definitely on my will-buy list, and recommended without reservation.

ETA - there's a mid-credit scene that's worth waiting a couple of minutes for. Nothing major, but fun.

good grief I hope that's wrong….cause if someone wasn't screaming, "there's no way we make money on this thing!" with that number then whoever was the final decision maker on that needs to be fired…..

I'm guessing that number is before the 25% tax discount with filming wherever the hell it was they filmed which will lower the reported budget if so………

but even still that's gonna be a high number that'll end up being well over it's total box office return…..

Yeeeeeesh…

Then you missed arguably his best role, in Requiem for a Dream.

That was peak Leto for me.

Everything else he's been in has been mid to bad. He was good in Dallas Buyer's Club.

Not surprised this movie sucks.
