When did unattractive people become part of the diversity cult?

If you have read the books and played Witcher 3, the sorceresses were the most beautiful women in all of the world. We are talking 11 out of 10. That was part of their power. Their magic allowed them to create their beauty. If any woman at anytime had that ability they won't choose to look like these ladies.

To be fair, per the book and the Witcher 1 game, Geralt didn't look as good as he does in Witcher 3 and Henry Cavill. The mutagen took a heavy toll

Then to make Dandelion (Jaskier) bisexual is bs also.
. . .
No one makes Dandelion bisexual and gets away with it!

Oh yeah - I think the painful and permanent process in the show was original content.

If they wanted to have LGB in the show, there are already important characters that fall into that check box. It is in the book already. They haven't gotten to that part of the story. They didn't have to make anything up.

I mean if anyone shoulda have been bi the traveling minstrel is the one I'd pick. But it should have been a show change since day once since they changed his name anyways.

Jaskier is the same as "Buttercup" in English, but the English translation of the novels chose Dandelion as a more apt translation for English.

Just watched all 3. The first one with the battle was entertaining at least. The other two sucked just like this season overall. Really sad. They needed some momentum going into the recast and did not deliver at all. No wonder Cavill left.

Man, wtf was that finale? I legitimately don't understand where you go from there. To me, I think Freya Allen and Henry Cavill are better than what they're given to work in with.

So they made everyone wait a month or whatever for 3 episodes that didn't move anything along? And that's the last of Cavill?

Thought this was really weird as well. The battle was the only entertaining thing, and it was in the first episode of part 2.

Its hard to describe how disappointing this season was. I can't think of a single aspect of this season that was above average.

Critical Drinker has been getting a decent amount of links on here lately so I thought some might like his breakdown on the failures of The Witcher. I think it's actually pretty good and I don't really have any major disagreements.

Having thought about it a bit, I would not be surprised if that's one of those "gotcha" headlines, where the woman is having a laugh and jokingly called him annoying or something.

But someone else will have to read the article cuz I am not that interested.

Definitely a gotcha headline. Talks about how he kept having his agents reach out before the show had even been officially greenlit. She eventually met with him to say "Hey I haven't even written anything or gotten the green light yet. I'll let you know when there's actually something to discuss."

Just finished the last episodes. This was indeed a stupid move

Still finishing up the last few episodes, but I don't have as many complaints as a lot of others. More than anything, I'm annoyed with how they portray Dijkstra. There are moments where it's accurate, but there is way too much sniveling and wayyyyyy too much weakness.

To contrast, this is his description in the Blood of Elves
Quote:

Dijkstra, head of King Vizimir of Redania's secret service, did not resemble a spy. He was far from the stereotype which dictated that a spy should be short, thin, rat-like, and have piercing eyes forever casting furtive glances from beneath a black hood. Dijkstra, as Dandilion knew, never wore hoods and had a decided preference for bright coloured clothing. He was almost seven foot tall and probably only weighed a little under two quintals. When he crossed his arms over his chest - which he did with habitual pleasure - it looked as if two cachalots had prostrated themselves over a whale. As far as his features, hair colour and complexion were concerned, he looked like a freshly scrubbed pig. Dandilion knew very people whose appearence was as deceptive as Dijkstra's - because this porky giant who gave the impression of being a sleepy, sluggish moron, possessed an exceptionally keen mind. And considerable authority. A popular saying at King Vizimir's court held that if Dijkstra states it is noon yet darkness reigns all around, it is time to start worrying about the fate of the sun.

Well episode 6 had some pretty cool visuals. That Elve being covered by her brothers blood was pretty graphic.

Wasn't it Dikstra that injured Geralt in the stairwell during the big fight in the book?
The Unforgiven
How long do you want to ignore this user?

The other way around. In the book Geralt broke Dijkstra's ankle in the stairwell. It never completely healed so he always walked with a limp. Geralt was severely injured by Vilgefortz in the book.

I don't know what I was expecting, but I was not expecting the 2nd half of the season to end when it did. I thought there would be something more to Cavills send off but it sounds like his announcement happened between after everything was shot so there wasn't anything to do.

Interesting. I liked this season better than season 2 but it still just feels like a massively wasted opportunity

See guys, it's not their fault. We're simply too stupid for complex storytelling so they had to ruin the show.
