At least I got to see the Green tour in G. Rollie White. Hi, Hi, Hi

I just heard an interview with Gavin Rossdale from Bush and he was doing a show and Mike Mills was in the front row and he said, "man I sure would love to see another REM concert." And Mike said, "You'll live."
in the past I've thought about starting a thread of peoples opinions on the most sought out reunion of a band with all living members, and I think rem is way up there, maybe number 1. It's been 15+ years, but nearly 30+ years since their heyday.

They stopped touring for good??
I had it all written up but took it out of my post.
I was going to clarify that a band without defining/main member is a different band.

The question defines the two criteria;

You must have seen the band/artist in the past
0% chance you can see that band again. (in other words, a main member died or is 0% chance coming back)

For me, I think it's Type O Negative. RIP Peter Steele. No other band can come close to filling the void that their completely unique sound left in me.

A close second place would be Chris Cornell solo acoustic or STP if they did some sort of core 25th anny run.

Nearly every band I've seen for my 30 years of concert going are still alive and kicking, save for those few. So while they may not be active, they certainly might be one day.

You ever listen to carnivore?
yeh. I can dig it now and again, mostly because it's just reminiscent to me of one of the many styles of type o. Always enjoy his politically driven thoughts.

But carnivore ain't type o.
For instance we hate everyone and KATWP both could totally be carnivore songs, until you get to the middle sections, then they gloriously become type o.

Wasn't trying to say they were, I just love when other people here also know bands that are off the beaten path, so to speak. I keep all my music on my phone and rotate stuff on and off and I think it is time to put both back on after a while off.

#1 worldwide would be ABBA. And they already turned down FU money. I'm not sure the show with the ABBAtars counts.

A full reunion of Journey with Steve Perry and the members from that time? Not sure his voice is up to it though.

Don't sleep on Arnel Pineda. I saw Journey in Vegas about 8 years ago and they brought it.

Pineda also brings in about a 20% Filipino audience. Very dedicated fans.

Original line-up of Yonder Mountain String Band. First Jeff Austin decided he liked cocaine more than the band. And then cocaine did what cocaine does.

They are better as musicians with the new line-up, but the energy just isn't the same.

Could list a few here, but the top selection is Dio.

I wish I knew then what I know now when I was seeing that show.

Also saw Chuck Berry, and didn't fully take in what I was seeing.

Honorable mentions: Quiet Riot, Daryle Singletary, Restless Heart

oh damn I forgot about Pantera.

Saw them with the recent lineup.. it's good, but certainly would love to see the original 4 again. I saw them twice in the 90s.
I saw everyone from the original Pantera live, just not as a part of Pantera, they were all in their other bands. I went to see Metallica with Pantera opening and it was pretty good, but without Vinnie and Dime it's just not the whole package. I think Charlie and Zakk do a solid job filling in but it's mainly Dime that's missing. It is nice that now Phil has his act together and he seems to actually enjoy performing, he looks legit happy. I've seen plenty of videos from back in the day when he was deep in his heroin addiction and I have no interest in seeing that so maybe it's better that I was able to see him older, but happier.

Rush, although I'd be all over the rumored Geddy & Alex playing with Dave Grohl.

SRV, which I say is my biggest regret, because I saw him a couple of times at small places in Dallas with zero respect or understanding and minimal appreciation of the greatness (stupid high school student not really into the blues etc etc)

Queen

Prince

James Brown

I've seen them with Lambert. He's really good, but even he will tell you he's not Freddie.

If there's a first step to having an REM reunion, it's getting Stipe out of retirement. Looks like that is destined to happen; I hadn't read this until now

I only got to see Ronnie perform as Heaven and Hell in 2007 but I've met all the rest of the guys who were in the band. Friends with some, acquaintances with others.

If you go see the band "Last in Line", they're as close as you can get with Vivian Campbell on guitar and Vinny Appice on drums. Phil Soussan on bass (his Twitter feed is a great read) and Andrew Freeman on vocals.

I can't find the quote but Ronnie said something to the effect of - you're going to play lots of shows but for those fans who spent their hard earned money and went through a lot of effort to come see you, you need to make it special because you'll forget all the shows you played but they'll remember that one show for the rest of their lives.

That's not precisely what he said but is definitely the spirit of it.

Funny aside (because I don't have anywhere else to share this experience), I met Ronnie's hair guy at a party and I asked him if I could get him to cut my hair (I had recently quit going to the barber shop and getting Corps of Cadets style haircuts). He basically let me know that he only cut the hair of "People in the public eye". I guess my money wasn't green enough.

funny that I asked that as a drummer of 30 years myself who is totally into these artists.. I know he can't!

I figured I didn't want to make anybody mad so I softened the question up some.

Grohl is not the guy for a rush show. A song sure, not a full show, let a lone several.

Tim alexander, dude from Primus, totally under the radar for most casual music fans. he can do it.
Wait, he DID do it. Primus toured playing rush tunes recently.
