Yes! Someone else gets it. I say this all the time but people think I'm a hater.

James Cameron is a horrible writer. His movies are visual spectacles with terrible stories that seem like they're written by a teenaged girl.

I don't know what happened between T2 and Titanic. I guess he decided to not even try to write and completely focus on visuals.

Maybe one of the most insane takes I've ever read on this board.

Does he write somewhat cheesy dialogue from time to time? Sure.

But the actual technical craft of his scripts - from how he communicates his ideas, to his structure, all the way down to his action/description - is flat out incredible, and for decades now has been some of the most exemplary in the entire industry.
