Great episode. The Campesino family had me in stitches. VVs line to the dad about "you set me up and I respect that" was great.

Shouldn't have tried to personalize the Dragon Queen.

I agree, unless it is going to tie back in somehow. This show has been a joy to watch.

100%! It's rare these days to get a limited series that actually improves as it progresses. Most, like Presumed Innocence, try to stretch the content to get more episodes but the quality drops significantly.

Not unrelatedly, VV has stepped up his energy level and patter game.

Scott Glen looking so old makes me feel damn old!

Michelle Monaghan makes me feel...tingly!

I'm a big fan of this show. The writing and characters are great.

I'm the least interested in the Monaghan backstory, but at least that provided for the Scott Glenn tie-in.

The Monaghan back story provides for more Monaghan, which is a great thing.

Really enjoying this show. This feels like a movie they just don't make anymore, but stretched it out into a series, and I don't mean that in a bad way. While it's a murder mystery, it's got just the right amount of humor, and not just jokes but the silly things like him getting out of the car to pull a guy's mailbox out of the ground and toss it in his yard, or the stuff he keeps doing to sabotage the house next door. Vince Vaughn is perfectly cast for this show. Only thing throwing me for a loop is Rob Delaney, the last time I saw him he was Peter in Deadpool & Wolverine, and while he looks the same he's playing a very different guy to the point it confuses me every time he's on screen.

I haven't read the Hiassen book but the dialogue sounds like Vince is ad libbing the entire time

just because it seems that is EXACTLY how Vince Vaughan always talks!

great dialogue and casting

While Zach Braff did a good job acting- it's disconcerting to have a scene and say "hey it's Zach Braff!"
Did you catch that the son he referenced had the same name as his son in Scrubs? 100% deliberate.

Not surprised to see zero comments re: last week's episode. Not horrible but definitely the weakest so far. Hope tonight's is better.

Definitely a setup for the final two episodes. Calm before the storm, pun intended. Still good though if maybe a bit slower

Honestly, I kinda enjoyed what I assume is the wrap up to the Bonnie storyline. Although I'm going to guess that the home owner has another part to play

She looks NOTHING like the character in the book.

Hiassen wrote a good series of books so there is definitely more material to work with.
Only two Yancy books, Bad Monkey and Razor Girl.

Although his other non-Yancy books are really good, too.

I just wrapped up Razor Girl. I enjoyed it, great way to make a novel about "Florida Man." But a lot of good characters and it flowed.

What other Hiassen novels would you recommend along the same lines of the two Yancy books?

Good to know there is another Yancy book. Hopefully we get another season with that one

Fantastic episode tonight.

They hit a bit of a mid-season lull - maybe this should have been eight episodes instead of ten - but they're firing on all cylinders here on the homestretch.

Can't wait for the finale next week.

I really enjoyed that. Wrapped everything up pretty well, in some ways I wasnt entirely expecting. Leaves open for season 2, which I'm all about. I could spend several more season with the characters and settings.

From what I can remember about the book, it definitely ended differently, albeit with mostly the same end results.

I really enjoyed that show, it was just fun.

I will say I was never really able to get my head around Rob Delaney as a villain, but i think that was the point.

Really good show, I agree with TCTTS (****ing kill me I know) but I can't help but feel like it drug the story out to make it 10 episodes rather than 8. Even with that said though I really enjoyed it.

Overall the show was really good. It seemed like the ending was rushed after dragging it out unnecessarily.

However I'd watch another season. Carl Hiaasen wrote a sequel to Bad Monkey with Yancy, so it is definitely possible. Reading up on future plans, the creator wants to do a three season arc. The final season, if 2 and 3 happen, would be original.

In the show, Miami and Key West are very recognizable but I was wondering how authentic Yancy's home was. If it is truly a Keys home then it is Atlantic facing, non GoM/Florida Bay facing.

Sure enough they did film at a house on Big Pine Key just like they said in the show.

Looking a Florida property records, the owner has a few other Keys properties so I'm sure she is in pretty good shape.

Agree with everyone's comments here. Liked the show but thought it lagged in the last few episodes. Love the cast they've assembled and hope they bring everyone back for a second season, especially the two hot chicks.
