My guess is the kooky scientist who predicted the event. Kind of an "I'll show them not to believe in Global Warming!"

Rewatching from the beginning because the wife walked in during the last episode and got hooked. Just realized the most unrealistic thing in the series so far. A big ass helicopter with enough lift to haul a bulldozer through a tunnel but nobody's hair so much as twitches.

Not sure I can watch the last episode now. Ruined.

ETA: was being sarcastic but to be serious did they ever explain why Collins' dad said "they" wouldn't let agent Collins fly for a living? Not sure if I missed something or if it is a hanging thread still.

I think he mentioned bad eyesight as the reason.

Sinatra saying something doesn't make it true. She tends to tell lies, so that could be the case again.

The kooky scientist will definitely play more of a role somehow if I had to guess, I'm just not sure how. Perhaps as a pissed off survivor?

All the Whitehouse staff that got left behind, especially that one lady who wanted help for her daughter, are definitely going to pop back up again as pissed off survivors.

I think season 2 will be the Paradise folks vs. the survivors. I think we'll see enemies be forced to become allies, and former loved ones & friends become enemies.

My original thought was Xavier's wife. Not so sure though now.

The Air Force has had the Cheyenne Mountain complex for decades (built during the Cold War). Most of the things you are asking were solved back then.

Awesome finale. I loved how they wrapped things up but left enough threads to keep it going. Can't wait for season 2.

Really thought "Wii" was code for something powerful and would make Jane the new leader...

Nope, just a damn Wii.

Easily one of the best new shows on tv. That was a great season. The penultimate episode was one of the most engaging and all around best episodes of anything I have watched in a while. I thought the finale did a good job wrapping up the season and leaving it open for a season 2.

The cast did a great job. Jane is psycho!

I agree w/all of the props for this show. It was fantastic. We really thought it was going to be run of the mill security for POTUS show. Not knowing anything, the 1st episode obviously became a "WTF did we just watch!" show.

2nd to last was perfect. These shows always leave the 'what happened' vague or try to parse it out over years. That episode is how its done!

That said - this show has a huge risk of quickly becoming the Walking Dead minus the zombies. Hopefully the creators keep the same level of expediency telling the story. Don't drag it into seasons 3 through 8 are repeats.

When Sinatra was on the phone with Jane the first time I told my wife "That moment you realize you aren't the craziest person in the bunker."

Great season. Started strong, slagged a little in the middle, but those last two episodes were fantastic.

Also I didn't put it together until the finale but Sinatra's daughter and husband are dead right? The daughter seems too young based on what I'm estimating is a 10+ year timeline, no one else ever seems to interact with them, and in that hospital bed scene they were kind of lit in white.

Not reading thread to about potential spoilers, but finished two episodes. Wow! What great TV so far. Love the premise, love the surprises, love the acting, and love the production/music/cinematography . First time in a long time a show has given me chills so early out of the gate.

Sinatra's husband and daughter are alive. She sends security for them when the sky stuff was hitting the fan with Xavier. I think they were mostly just out of sight

Really enjoyed the series. The killer story was a little stretch as far as coming somewhat out of nowhere, and his scene crying about Adam was odd. But still enjoyed it.

It's one of the best series I've ever watched but the finale was definitely a let down for us.

Music was so on point in this series. Very well done.

Finale wasn't a let down, but clear episode 7 was the climax of the season.

Really setting up quite a bit for season 2.

Agree, music was incredible. Both the composed music as well as the song selections.

Yeah. We need Jane's backstory. She's wild

This show was so good. I can't wait for Season 2. I kind of think this one should conclude after two seasons though. Risky dragging something like this out for too long.

Finally had a chance to knock this out, and that had to be the most cloying, broadcasty, mid-'00s show I've seen in years. One that reeked of being written by a boomer who seemingly stopped consuming music/pop culture around 1989.

But I'll be damned if it wasn't also an emotional roller coaster, expertly crafted in terms of twists/turns/setups/payoffs, and addicting as hell.

To the point where I can't wait for season two now.

That crazy, stupid Fogelman got me.

In the first couple episodes I immediately felt like this was going to be one of those many shows that came out after LOST that tried to capture the network TV mystery feel. I quickly got over it and became engrossed.

It reminded me of season 1 of Wayward Pines. I haven't finished it yet because we pivoted to The Pitt, but I want to go back and finish

We finished last night.

Really liked it a lot. It definitely felt like an ABC broadcast tv vibe, especially with the commercial cuts. I instinctively reached for the remote to fast forward when they happened.

I thought the very very end was a little cheesy, the whole plane thing.

I hope they can keep up the momentum and/or find a new mystery.

I really enjoy sterling brown as an actor. He's got a say a million things without saying anything straight face.

Just finished, enjoyed it well enough as long as I don't look too deep into it. I thought the actress who played Sinatra was miscast, everytime she tried to be threatening it felt like she just read the book "idiots guide to mustache twirling villains". Liked everyone else. I felt like paradise wasn't that well developed. Sometimes it felt like they'd been there for the 3 years, sometimes it felt like a generation. I assume they got mostly 25000 of the best and brightest, but it seemed like a community of random people. The twist wasn't done that well, we didn't really have multiple people we suspected then boom, it's this guy you never suspected bc were going to wait for a flashback in the final episode to really introduce him. Had a really good premise, just missed the mark on a lot of things. The best episode was the penultimate. Marsden and brown were excellent

Yeah we need a whole ep dedicated to her like we had for Billy.

Also the episode with all the Die Hard references was great. Told my wife "they found a female villain who kinda even looks like Alan Rickman!"

Opposite experience. Very strong premise that was failed by poor writing, acting, and plot
