Everyone on that little Nazi island in Greece died after The Ark was opened except for Indy and Marion because they kept their eyes closed.

Did they pilot the sub back to civilization on their own? Radio for help somehow?

FIFY.

Also, Indy is not critical to the story. If he didn't exist, the Nazis would have had the exact same thing happen to them….

Except they would never have found the ark if Indy hadn't found it for them. Had Indy never been involved, they would have never found the ark because they needed him to lead them to Marion.
And even then, they didn't know to take back one kaddam to honor the Hebrew God who's Ark this is, since Toht only had one side of the medallion burned into his palm.
The Nazis didn't need to know the exact location, they would have eventually found it.

True.

They hired strong backs and paid pennies for them.

But without Indy they would have had the medallion and Marion would be caput
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

Did they know Marion had the medallion, or did they follow Indy because they knew he would lead them to the medallion since they didn't know where it was?

BTTF - There's no way the McFly's live in the exact same home in the new 1985 where they are rich and successful.

Not sure. I've never thought they followed Indy to begin with. But that very well could be oversight on my part. I had always just thought the two parties showed up at the same time

So when Indy boards that Pan Am seaplane and there's a fellow watching him, that doesn't make you think they're following Indy?

Possibly. But the Ark has eluded discovery forever. Do you really think God would allow the Nazis to find it?

Belloq knew to follow Indy to get the idol in the opening scene of the movie. The Germans intentionally let the Americans know they were looking for Ravenwood so Indy would lead them to the medallion.

There's no mention of Marion in the Nazi telegram that Porkins, the Top Man intelligence officer, mentioned. The telegram did mention Abner Ravenwood. They aren't likely to stumble across her, given the remote location she was living at, and only did find her because they followed Indy.

I honestly don't remember anything beyond him getting on the plane and the map pops up to track his journey. Like I said could easily be an oversight.

Top Gun Maverick: F-35s could absolutely done that mission. They not only could have taken out that air vent thing, it could have taken out all of those SAM sites too. All in a single high altitude pass. And then gone and bombed the airbase for fun.

(That said, I saw that movie twice in the theater.)

Umm, hulloooo…

Warlock clearly stated that there was GPS jamming so the F-35 was not an option.

You also missed John Williams' contribution to the story with his music. His score at that moment makes it crystal clear that there is a villain on the sea plane.

Just pointing that out.

A Quiet Place.

The dad takes the kid to the waterfall to show him how loud you can be when the surroundings are louder.
Why not move the family to waterfall? Build a house, hell they won't hear you nailing boards. You've got a baby on the way and you're trying to soundproof the house? GTFOH.

How do you get the boards and the materials to the waterfall?

Last Jedi. Why do you let all these ships get blown up instead of sticking a droid in them to hyperspace into the ahole chasing you, which you end up doing in the end anyway with the last ship you have left? God that will movie was ****ing terrible.

I find the whole "Raiders would have ended the same without Indy" argument to be hilariously bad. I feel like people only say that because they saw that episode of the Big Bang Theory and think they found a "gotcha!" when really they just never paid attention to the movie.

Assuming the Nazi's would have just randomly discovered the correct location in the desert when they were on a timeline is not a cogent argument.

Slowly and Quietly. Same way they managed to pour and replenish sand for miles from their home into and around town.

Sauron's AA guns we're still active until his demise, plus his Air Force.

Also, Gandalf, unfortunately didn't have the foresight to not use up all his free rides to allow quick destruction of the ring.

The reason they could not fly the eagles to Mordor was explained in the books, but Jackson did a poor job of conveying that in the films.

I have a lot of problems with the movie Looper. It takes up way more space in my brain than an alright movie from 10 years ago deserves.

I also just recently saw the 2014 Godzilla and I have a lot of problems with it too. The directorial choices made. It worked for some but not at all for me.

So which movies do you have a "problem" with, and why?

Some of mine:

Hangover. Why in the world wouldn't Phil have a credit card to pay for ?

it's a great movie but every time i watch it the phil story arc drives me more crazy

Phil wouldn't have passed out for 2 days on a hot roof in the desert.

he could have easily woken up and yelled down for help.

or, you know, talked to the crew who were on the roof removing the mattress.
