I just want a somewhat recognizable world/culture for my young daughter to inherit. Yeah, you have ZERO understanding of DEI. Modern DEI is a propagandist term for discrimination.

EVERYONE I know is for that bolded part. A merit based society where color of someone's skin isn't even considered. Because, you know, we are not racist.

The left, on the other hand, is the one that says white and Asian kids should be discriminated against in college admissions. But then again, they also think black and brown people are too poor/stupid/incompetent to get ID like everyone else. You should see the highlight reels of black people on the streets lamenting how absurd and offensive that is.

This sums up modern dems pretty nicely...the soft bigotry of low expectations...

I don't know if this has been posted since I haven't read everything but here is Voight's proposal.

Also, our distributor had a shakeup last year when the CEO retired and they merged with another company which has an American CEO. They had a meeting this morning and will be shifting Canadian production to the US. We just had four movies added to our slate.

What's the ballpark percentage of production your company is doing stateside vs in Canada and other countries?

I don't think most folks realize how much is shot in Canada, both shows and movies. Tons of VFX houses have opened studios there as well due to all the incentives.

We set up a pod in Windsor Ontario as my business partner's kids are in Michigan. We were basically doing test runs for movies to film our romances there as the US dollar is strong against the Canadian dollar. He has been trying to get citizenship because the Canadian incentive has a point system and producer is a part of it. We have been paying local producers to put their names on the movie.

Otherwise I have shot a handful of movies outside the U.S. in places like Fiji but that was under an old incentive. For the most part I can crank out all the movies I need to in the U.S. we should hit 16 this year which is one less than our best year of 17 in 2022. However we shot 24 between June 2022 and June 2023. My goal would be to hit 40 in a year. I'd like to retire with 300 movies under my belt.

One of the most obtuse things I've seen on this board. Anyone who has worked in the corporate world knows that DEI has nothing to do with the actual questions you put here.

I think we all agree on the answers to the questions you asked. However, quotas, racial hiring committees, under the table mandates by HR...none of these practices should be considered acceptable yet they are all in the F500 HR strategy playbook.

In 2023 Microsoft literally bragged about paying white employees less than non white employees, and paying women more than men for the same jobs.

If California wants more movies and shows made in their state, they can compete for the industry's business with everyone else.

I don't think American taxpayers should pay a dime more to have movies made there or in any other state.
