They're eating dead human bodies? Mixed with all those fruit and vegetables? In the form of a liquid smoothy?

That's my only guess.

Yeah, that was just a classic VG episode.
An hour (almost) of brilliantly choreogrqphed but light on action drama making you wonder why we invested so much time in where wer were, and in the end it's a huge cliffhanger but clear ****'s about to get really real.
And yeah, humans are the only thing that makes sense, but we will see.

And by the way, that was Patrick Fabian on the voice recording. Aka, Howard Hamlin.

I'm surprised she didn't quickly request that they just go directly to voicemail rather than having to listen to the spiel each time.

These are the things that matter.

That's where we're leaning as well. I could easily see them using an agricultural plant to highly process the "consolidated resources," which could include deceased humans, into a perfectly calculated liquid food.

Going out on a limb (pardon the pun), but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the hive mind knows what each worker bee needs to survive.

Also, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm seeing a lot of similarities to bees. Like maybe this powder is their "honey." What if they have a "royal jelly" for incubation? Matrix style?

Great episode, the drone parts made me laugh more than I should have. Fun fact, the song during the grave scene is from the Houston based band Khruangbin. Second Houston reference in the show.

I think Carol seemed more surprised/shocked than terrified at the ending scene if that makes sense.

I could see this show going on years and I could see it with a very quick shelf life. She needs to start getting people to separate themselves from the hive. The hive can't lie, and their weakness is they can't kill and they are like pets that just want to please until they can get her to join

Tedious episode for 35 minutes. Scenes and direction are meticulous as usual otherwise I'd be reading a book with this show in the background.

People in the warehouse would be too easy. Maybe clones of people who've died? Who knows?

Damn, I love her house…

I'm still trying to figure out how he's pulling this off. They built her neighborhood as a set so as not to repeat the insanity of fans visiting the Walter White house. Did they build a shell for outside shots and then use a real home somewhere else? Surely some weaponized autist will figure out where the real house is if so.

Anybody else think that the collective does have at least one more hierarchy to it- like a "queen bee" human, alien, or even computer that makes the decisions? I think it is not an alien since they are so distant.

So good. I am sure there are a bunch of Easter eggs in this as well that upon a rewatch will seem genius - I'm sure Reddit is already all over it. Carol's character is so well designed for everyone to be able to identify with her.

Dead humans would make sense for the hive, who seem hyper efficient.

Thought it was interesting that a drugged individual seemingly detaches from the hive, to some degree, and has autonomy - when Zosia is drugged she has some kind of agency. Which I think means individuality is still there when the connection to the hive is interrupted? If that's the case, where each carrier is still an individual mind, the memories and knowledge of everyone must transfer between individuals near instantly.

Oh I know, but once again monetize that ***** $20 a pizza. She could easily make enough money from that house to move into a different one.

Back to Pluribus… yea… bodies seems too easy. I do wonder about pets. We've only seen wild animals thus far.

Now up to two different homages to Twilight Zone episodes, according to video below. I did watch Twilight Zone S1 E14 last week to see the connections, and it is worth watching if you have never seen it (available on Amazon Prime)

He theorizes a lot in his videos about what is ahead, so do not watch if you think that is a spoiler

If Carol asked the hive to stop drinking the drink because it would make her happy do you think they would?

This is a great question. I am thinking their self preservation ultimately trumps all. Like "we will serve you as long as it doesn't mean our self destruction".

Finally caught up last night. What a great show! and great discussion and contributions to this thread. Looking forward to the next episodes.

I have a feeling that Zosia will eventually will eventually help Carol on her battel to bring humanity to defeat the hive.

Haven't seen any dogs or cats lately... but yeah I put money on people...

Oddly enough you can get Soylent drinks at grocery stores. They taste horrible but it's so hilarious they are real drinks...

Crazy how we went from all these tweets finding subtle hints from other episodes about what's in the drink, to this big reveal, and then it's defused in seconds. These writers are going to keep everyone off balance. I love it!

Another good episode, I would pick various iterations of Porsches over the Lambos

The empty Vegas exteriors were incredible, and very reminiscent of the empty Times Square sequence from Vanilla Sky. What a cool feat. But then the Paraguay sequence topped it, IMO, in terms of sheer cinematography. Just some hauntingly beautiful imagery, lighting, and colors.

"You're not my mother. My mother's a *****"

What a fantastic closing line.

What a cinematic episode.

God, this show is so damn good.

Ha, seriously. It's weird, they're blowing through so much story (any other show would have saved Carol meeting the other twelve like her until the end of season one), in the best way, yet I can't believe there are somehow only three episodes left.
