David and David "Welcome to the Boomtown"?

Good one. I had that album on cassette way back when.

I loved that album - it was one I actually listened to all the way through, especially the A side.

Was always shocked they did not have a follow-up. They were just two LA session musicians who paired up and made an album. They later both contributed to some Sheryl Crow albums and produced for other artists.

Two other tracks technically charted on the Rock chart anyway.

Swallowed by the Cracks - loved this one

Weren't they part of the actual Tuesday Night Music Club along with the late, incredibly talented Kevin Gilbert?

I know it's technically a collab / side project, but it's amazing to me that The Postal Service never put out another album after Give Up went platinum. Assuming you can consider "Such Great Heights" a hit.

Was gonna go with Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians "What I Am" but I guess they have more than one album.

She's an Oak Cliff Dallas gal then went on to marry Paul Simon. Fun fact at least.

That is an incredible album though.

I was part of the group that hosted them when they played Rudder Auditorium in the early 90s. I got to hang out backstage with Doyle Bramhall for a bit after the show. Never before or since have I felt so uncool. I have no doubt that guy forgot about me within seconds of us parting. I remember it like it was earlier today.

I was in the front row for that show. And thanks to MB for bringing them up, will be looking on Spotify for that album today, as I have not listened to it in many years

Temple of the Dog, but that's kind of a special case.

Mad Season doesn't get as much love as Temple of the Dog but they should, maybe I'm just a sucker for Layne Staley's voice.

Agreed!

they have 4 albums from that era, plus a fifth from an apparent resurgence last year.

Hell, that song was on their first AND second album!

Blind Melon, but didn't the singer die?

Did presidents of the USA have another album?

Blind Melon put out 2 albums before Shannon died and another album of unreleased tracks after his death. And they got back together with a new singer about a decade or so ago and still tour some. Saw them last year.

They still play around occasionally. My wife and I saw them at Gruene Hall a year or two ago. Wish they would put out another album!

Bonecrusher is the best. Can't remember their name, but a cover band that used to play at The Tap '94-95 that did a hell of a cover of Bonecrusher.

Sons of Sylvia

Hit song: "Love Left to Lose"
Only album: "Revelation"

Of course, they were a part of The Clark Family Experience (with their other 3 brothers) in 2000 that had one album and one top 20 country song, as well.

Hit song: "Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch"
Only album: "The Clark Family Experience"

Joe King Carrasco and the Crowns with their one hit "It's a party" in the 80's. Saw them warm up before UB40 who warmed up for The Police in the Meadows in 1984.

We can almost say UB40 as that was the first time I heard "Red Red Wine" and I can't name another hit off the top of my head.

Not sure if this one counts but, The D.O.C - No one can do it better.

He technically had a few more albums but this was his only proper album due to the vocal cord accident.

ub40 had a huge hit with another cover a decade later.. I can't help falling in love with you.

Plus they have about 100 albums so they don't make the cut.

Good To Be Gone is a GREAT album!!! I tried to get Pandora to create a station based on Bonecrusher, but they play other songs off the album way more than they ever play Bonecrusher. I guess because of the F word? I don't know. But I love that album, and was fortunate to see them live once or twice.

They have (had) other albums but I didn't care for them so much.

Frosty was a great drummer! Played with Parliament/Funkadelic and Delbert McClinton, too; among others. RIP Frosty!
