Fast Fred was a music encyclopedia. It would not shock me to hear 2525 was a favorite of his.

Miss that guy

Same, gurl, same. It was a "banger" before that was a thing.

Crap - thought I might have one with R&B trio City High and their single "What Would You Do?". They checked the single album box, but had another top twenty hit with "Caramel" featuring Eve, a song I have no recollection of at all.

Nena has had many hits , multiple albums, and a very long career in her native Germany. Not a one hit anything.

I wish Space Jam would come out with another album, that first one was great. Lot of featured singers.

Didn't see them mentioned, but Borialis (the New Jersey funk/rap band, not the newer Canadian metal band) had only one album ("What You Thought You Heard") with Don't Mean A Thing featured on Gran Turismo 4. Probably doesn't qualify as a hit, but I've always loved it.

This one made it to #7 on the US pop Chart in 1971…

Heard this one today after a long time and it reminded me of this thread.

"Tighter, Tighter" by Alive 'N' Kickin' from 1970...I'm a cheap SOB and can't post links. It was a top 10 hit in 1970 and they only had the one studio album. Its chorus reminds me of Joplin's "Piece of My Heart".

That one was written by Tommy James. The older I get, the more I appreciate his talents. He's a really good DJ as well - I always make time on Sunday afternoons to listen to his program "Gettin' Together" on Sirius 60's Gold. His experience in the music business really shines there.
