Also, in that scenario, Rizo or Jonathan will have lost in fire in both of their seasons.

I really think we are getting an Aubry winners edit. I feel like she takes Joe with her and sends Jonathan and Rizo to fire.

How awful would it be for Joe to go to final 3 in both his seasons and get 0 votes both times

Would Coach not throw a vote Joe's way?

I think Coach will have no idea what he's doing until he gets up there. But if it's Aubry, Joe, Jonathan, Jonathan will kiss Coach's ass and Joe won't.

I totally forgot that Jonathan lost the fire challenge. There's no way he hasn't been practicing it. I'm sure they'll all be gunning for Tiff again at 5 since they were so hardcore to get her out at 6. If she doesn't win immunity, the others seem like they're letting Aubry slide into the Final 4 where she will beat them all.

What do you guys think about an extra bonus for the next season where make a pick for overall winner when we do the picks and get an extra 10 points or so if they win? I am bummed by the lack of drama in the contest (mostly) going into the last episode.

I'm game. I can't remember if there are points for making fire, but there should be.
Points for if you're picked to make fire and win.
Negative points for being picked to make fire and lose.
Bigger penalty if you lose and don't get any semblance of a fire.
More points for putting yourself in the fire challenge and winning.
Bigger penalty for putting yourself in the fire challenge and losing.
-8 points each if they both suck so bad Jeff has to give them matches.
Bonus points for making it to the final three with an idol/advantage in your pocket.
Negative points for not getting a single vote at the final tribal.

Here's the rules for final tribal:

FINAL TRIBAL
You are the Sole Survivor: +10 points

You finish second: +5 points

You finish third: +4 points

You finish fourth: +2 points

You put yourself in the fire-making challenge and lose:- 5

You put yourself in the fire-making challenge and win +5

You get zero votes at Final Tribal: -5 points

And specific for Rizo at 5 -

You play your HII at Tribal Council and it doesn't save anyone: -3 points

So at 5, if he doesn't win immunity, he's going to lose whoever has him 1.5 or 2 points because he'll get 1/1.5 for making it through Tribal, but -3 for playing the idol and it doesn't save anyone, assuming he plays it for himself and they don't try to blindside him or he doesn't use it on someone else.

Are points when someone rolls their eyes at something coach says still in play even though he's been eliminated? There's bound to be some.

You get positive points if your player eyerolls Coach or Rizo or Devens doing a fake news report. In fact, the rules don't say you have to still be in the game, so if Dee rolls her eyes at Coach and you have Dee on your picks, you get points.

Also, thank you Probst, for a double scoop of Tribal Council Dee last night. Live finale Dee, I suspect, will be the true legacy of Season 50.

Points for:

The camera shows you rolling your eyes while Coach is talking: +1 point (EVERY TIME SHOWN)

The camera shows you rolling your eyes while Rizzo is talking: +1 point (EVERY TIME SHOWN)

The camera shows you rolling your eyes when Rick Devens does one of his "breaking news" monologues: +1 (EVERY TIME SHOWN)

We also still have this in play:

You apologize for some sort of political/emotional BS from a previous time you played Survivor (you didn't think about other people's feelings, you didn't know any gay people, you were not aware of how much white guilt you should have): - 5 points (EVERY TIME SHOWN)

You decide to play "Real Life Police" and call someone out for something you don't like about their life outside the game: -5 points (EVERY TIME SHOWN

You have a breakdown about how unfair life is based on your race, gender, sexual orientation, anything political, or COVID-19: -3 points (EVERY TIME SHOWN)

100% Jonathan will win that scenario. There's no way Rizo will have practiced.

Ok, feeling better in the Best household with that clarification!

But will the Mrs get dinged if/when Devens goes "Breaking News"?

Gonna be a crazy finish....

Devens doesn't lose points, other people gain them.

If Deves lost points for that, nobody would ever pick him.

Unrelated, Probst said the response has been so great with returning players that we'll see more "sooner rather than later"

She did nothing other than lay on her hammock and voice her opinion on stuff. That's what passes as a Survivor Legend I guess.

Glad someone like Aubrey finally realized Cirie was about to cruise on her hammock right into $2 million

It is hard to quantify how she did it, but everyone knew Cirie held the keys to all the players and knew they had to try and work through her to accomplish their goals. Those connections didn't just happen, she worked to get them in place.

I agree, looks like she laid around, but she commanded the respect somehow, and that is admirable in this game. Everyone respected that she had the connections and she knew she was in trouble. Her move to put suspicion on Aubry was brilliant in last episode, and Aubry knew Cirie planted that seed of doubt in Jonathan/Joe and couldn't get that stink of doubt completely off her.

Last episode Cirie was in tribal with 4 people and had to use her extra vote to save herself, which left her vulnerable this tribal against 5 people. When there is no where left to hide, it is difficult to guide the whole game and not be seen as a threat.

Honestly, I think Dee and Kyle are the best players in today's iteration of the game. They are top tier strategists and relationship builders like Cirie, and they can win an immunity when the numbers dwindle to get through to the final tribal council. Cirie is not going to win that immunity when it is imperative to do so, and therefore can't punch through as a winner. Dee and Kyle are individually a pretty good blend of Cirie and peak Ozzy in a single package.

Dee's relationships were not strong enough to truly get to the individual portion of the game this time. Pretty big personalities this season. Cirie was dialed on the relationships.

I've been pretty hard on Cirie at times (I used to think nobody should get 4+ tries for their first win, and this is her 6th if you count Australian Survivor) but I think this season really showed how good she is. And also, why she'll never win unless she's put up against a tribe of complete dummies like Boston Rob got on his 4th season.

(Coincidentally, Cirie went up against a tribe of dummies on the Traitors and won)

Consider:
- She's got the physical skills of a goat and yet has made the merge 5 times, including finishes of 3rd (unfortunate final tribal of 2 instead of 3), 4th (fire challenge), 4th, 6th and 6th.
- Always targeted early, yet navigates the social scene to sway votes her way
- Seems like everybody knows she's a threat, but then everybody works with her until it's a point where they say "Cirie will win the game, I have to take her out" in the final few episodes

She's got that magic power over people, it was awesome to see this year. But yes, unfortunately without being able to win an immunity challenge, she is kind of easy pickings at 5 or 6. She may have been able to save herself if she'd blindsided Rizo to keep Devens around, then have Devens and the newly-empowered Tiff as two other threats, but there was risk to that for sure. And she probably didn't know Rizo is such a logical gamebot, having not seen season 49.

She's great, but she'll never win. But I think she's also earned her rep.

Edit: One last thought. A threatening rep is so hard to shake, so it's so hard to compare trophies like we would in sports. Sandra won twice despite not really being seen as a great winner either time. Tony's 2nd win is incredible because he had that rep and still overcame it against some of the greatest players of all time. Personally, I think Dee is great but she'll always have a rep to overcome. Kyle doesn't really, which makes him a perfect candidate to repeat someday IMO.

An interesting point of discussion for the next few days is what decisions are made based on who wins final immunity.

We know Rizo is in the final 4. With Aubry's "winner's edit, I think many of assume Tiff goes out at 5.

if the Final 4 is Rizo, Aubry, Joe, Jonathan it feels like 4 very different strategies (well 3 strategies and Joe) head to the tribal.

Jonathan - feel like he would want to redeem himself in the fire for a final move and go against Rizo

Rizo - Bring Joe, put Aubry & Jonathan in fire

Joe - Honor code brings Jonathan and puts the other 2 in fire, which is honestly probably the best idea.

Aubry - feel like she'd bring Joe and put Riz vs. Jonathan in fire. But I forgot that Aubry won fire in Season 32, albeit against one of the worst fire-builders in history.

Jury wise, I don't really see Aubry losing if she's in the Final 3. It's an 11-person jury.

If Tiff is out at 5, you'd have 6 women on the jury, and at least Dee, Tiff, Emily, and Cirie would vote for Aubry.
Of the men, Christian and Rick seem pretty likely to vote for her. That's already 6 votes which would be enouh.

Just to add onto the Cirie discussion, she made a point in one of the episodes how everyone comes to her and tells her EVERYTHING. I don't know why they do that, but that seems like very dumb game play against one of the best social game players.
