Then again, people keep saying things like this (below), so I don't know what to believe. All I know is that the dates I just named are correct, but maybe the "controversy" didn't begin until later?

I think this situation sucks for MBJ if he wins. Might not feel "earned" if everyone thinks it's just due to this stupid controversy.

Honestly I went back and forth between those two. Hamnet hit me much harder but I think OBAA will have a longer impact. I was a mess by the end of Hamnet though. Really good movie!

The only movie I've seen on the best picture list is F1, and I thought it was just kind of "meh" like most Brad Pitt movies. My wife and I started watching One Battle After Another, but we could not finish it. Horrible movie! Hollywood continues to be a joke.

The first 3/4 of Hamnet felt like quintessential "Oscar bait" from 25 years or so ago; lots of on screen emoting in a not very enjoyable period drama.

The parts where the kid dies were unpleasant to watch, but I didn't feel that the film had earned the emotions it was trying to produce. I just didn't care about the characters all that much. It was all a little Movie of the Week for me.

The parts at the end with Hamlet in them were transcendent (that Shakespeare guy was really talented, who knew?).

Loved the Weapons opening. The vast majority of the audience who didn't see the movie are wondering what the hell is going on.

I wondered if they were going to give a nod to the movie Conan was actually in.

Very fair and I don't disagree. At points I wondered where the movie was going. The end is just so damn good though.

Had no idea Amy was married to Ed Harris!

Honestly out of the top 6 in that movie I felt like he was the least interesting. Of course he can carry any movie but I think her win was due to everyone that wasn't Leo.

Kind of a dick move by the short film winner to take a jab at Timmy.

One of maybe the dumbest "controversies" in recent memory really for just stating a fact that ballet and opera aren't exactly huge in the public interest. Crazy.
