Whomever was responsible for this absolute sham needs to be excommunicated; it looks like something demonic. It's apparently a guy wrapped in some sort of flesh appearing blanket, but it looks like a demon.

It is unfortunately not AI.

The German Church went off the rails with the Synodal Way starting around 2019

The Church is in free fall there

Francis should have nipped it in the bud and kicked people to the curb, but he didn't have the stones

Is that what ChatGPT came up with? I remember Opus Dei from High School. It's much older. The history goes back much farther than your timeline.

I think you are new to Catholic Church as I recall, maybe I'm wrong. However, it has been my experience that the Church moves slow. The TLM is a case in point, going back some 50+ years before a more definitive statement was issued. It is still allowed mind you, but the emphasis is on the Novus Ordo, still in infancy in comparison to earlier rites. Give it time. It will work out the kinks. It always does.

Maybe the reports of human trafficking, physical, and mental abuse might have something to do with it? There is a lot out there to sift through. Can you chime in on why complying with the stated reforms are so problematic for Opus Dei to meet?

Since you have some history with the organization, is this more of an apostolate and not so much a sanctioned religious order like the Franciscans? I see that they were founded in 1928. Seems like for some time all was well until it wasn't. That may explain the action taken by the Vatican. In any event, this is an apple to the orange that is going on in Germany.

It may come to that. I recall Pope Francis saying that the Synodal movement in Germany was not same as the Synodal conference going on at the Vatican. That essentially undercut the German movement because it gave the opposition a way out immediately. What ended up happening was far less than expected.

I mentioned above, the church moves slow. There doesn't seem to be any reason to stifle the German Synodal way for now. It has no ecclesiastical backing like the one at the Vatican 2023-2024. This type of freedom to meet and discuss is not looked down upon- it just doesn't happen very fast if at all.

It may not mean anything to non-Catholics, however, the Vatican II reforms can trace their foundations back 100 years and some 1000+. The earliest churches were large homes and not basilicas.

Can you chime in on why complying with the teachings of the church is so hard for the German church? You're deflecting the conversation into whether or not Opus Dei deserved to be punished; that topic isn't germane for the moment.

The topic at hand is that the Vatican clearly has no problem exercising their authority when necessary; given the wanton heresy coming from the German church; why haven't we seen a proportionate response?
