I'm pretty sure it was never unstable. Not sure what that flashing was but I don't think it was rotation.FireAg said:
It looks stable now…weird…

Just told my wife I can't wait to fly starship to Australia.

After a couple of orbits, though.

1 or 2 V-3 flights and they gotta start sending new Starlinks up right?
🚨🇺🇸 ELON CRASHES SPACEX STARSHIP LIVESTREAM
— Mario Nawfal (@MarioNawfal) October 13, 2025
Elon just photobombed his own company's webcast with arms spread wide asking how things were going.
The hosts looked genuinely stunned.
When they told him he was live, Elon's response was perfect: "No way!"
Meanwhile, SpaceX is… https://t.co/uLZQX6tmAj pic.twitter.com/WeohxqJCL5

1) I don't think you'll have to wait a couple of orbits.
2) I'd rather experience a couple of orbits. Or, more distinctly, have a couples' experience for a few orbits.

My point, exactly. Give me the scenic tour.
Here's just a single frame from the 4K 11" telescope video of @SpaceX Starship engine shutdown as it flew south of Florida this evening. You guys are in for a treat, but I want to take the time to properly stabilize and process the video. pic.twitter.com/LJqpjwxacf

The first V3 is rumored to be a similar dual water landing like flight 11. Perhaps the one after that would be an orbital and they try to catch both booster and starship.

I saw somebody saying the first V3 launch won't be until next year. Have you seen anything about why they are going to wait so long? Seems like they were going faster recently.

"Banking maneuvers and subsonic guidance"
That's rocket speak for more steering and "flying around" in the final minutes or seconds of flight to simulate movements needed for landing and catch? Opposed to the smaller more "generic" (yes I know it's no where near that simple) adjustments in reentry to land close to the buoy-cam.
Wonder if they are also looking at ways of avoiding overflights of major metro areas during the landing approach.
