Per the Twitter, tanker trucks are bringing in propellant. Sounds like another attempt is a good today. Weather looks perfect.

Do they recover the prop and ox from failed attempts like yesterday? Or is it all just lost and vented to the atmosphere?

I believe I heard during the WDR that some is recovered, but not all.

Just did a visual inspection from the South Padre Island jetties.

Ship, sky, and weather look good to go. I will go ahead and let SpaceX know that we can authorize the launch today.

I'll be fishing down there with my kids at about 3:30 hopefully.

Ahem..... rule #1, sir?

Yes, I believe they can recover most of the propellant, but some is lost through boil-off and venting. I thought prior to the tank farm upgrades, if they fully loaded the stack and then scrubbed, it was 2-3 days for tankers to replenish everything due to how much they lost and how limited their storage capacity was, but I may be making that up.

The pin not releasing was the 4th and 5th hold according to Alex on the NSF stream.

The others were 1) the push backs trying to reclaim/purge some of the little bits of propellent left in the lines after fueling the ship, 2) then the water deluge then 3) looking at the pressures on the quick disconnect arm.

Sounds like the ship was ready to fly. Just support system issues.

Twitter and a lot of the rest of the Internet doesn't work for me on this ship. When is launch scheduled for? I thought it was like 1730.

Sounds like a great place for a Starlink Mini.

Eh, I don't want to pay for it. We have starlink on our workboats and that's where I am at the majority of the time.

And a ground systems issue that I think is not normally tested on a WDR as they do not get to the point of relaxing the ship quick disconnect and arm retraction.

Just expense it as "ship supplies".

No, I don't care what CNN or Miss NOW said this time

Hopefully a-ok for Rocketlab here.

I'd expect a full size test-to-failure at some point for a full size production-representative example before any actual launch attempt.

Dang I bought some Rocketlab stock on May 4th for around $78 and it has zoomed since. Made a new all-time high today at 139.

Damn. You used to have to get onto the jetties pre-dawn on launch days for a spot and now you can just fish a couple hours before launch.

I guess these launches aren't getting the hype they once did.

I think the ones where they are already saying up front they are not going to go for a catch are less attended. When they start trying to catch one or both, you will see the crowds ramp back up again.

With loads like that probably. That takes about 3-5 days I think if under power 24/7 with crew and captain rotation.

I defer to Sea Speed on the logistics of the crew and captain bits.

They're talking to a guy out in the Indian Ocean where ship will land. He begins almost every answer with "I'm not going to lie". Apparently he has a reputation?

Just turned it on. Are they going to launch this with the grid fins deployed instead of tucked? Don't remember seeing that on the prior launches.

Interesting. I'll have to go back and watch the earlier launches. I've seen so many Falcons I'm probably getting it mixed up.
