In other words "I'll meet with him to accept his surrender".

Quote:

Russian President Putin is ready to meet with a subservient Ukrainian President Zelensky, but it can only be productive once Ukraine has capitulated, Kremlin spokesman Peskov said on Wednesday.

He also noted that Moscow sees no political will on the part of Kyiv to give us what we want, and agree to become a vassal state.

There we go. Must have been lost in translation.

From what I've read, Russia is getting their asses kicked last six weeks. Am I wrong?

It hasn't been going as well as they'd like, or they'd like the domestic audience to believe, no.

Anyone that thinks Ukraine is winning is crazy though. Ukraine is not winning. Just hoping to find a resolution before giving out.

Ultimately it's what Russia decided to do in the end.

they are just butting their heads against a drone wall, decimating their male population and getting their industrial base blown up in the process.

Depends. At least in the short term, continuing to exist as a nation independent of Russian control could be seen as a win. The alternative to that would certainly seem to be much more of an L.

Bingo! The fact that Ukraine still exists as an independent nation after being invaded by the second most powerful land army in the world is a victory in itself.

man, he is living in a fantasy land of some sort

I wonder if, at this point, his generals are telling him the truth...

Kind of like when the Generals didn't tell Hitler the whole truth because they didn't want to get the Nazi equivalent of "fell out of a window"...

If anyone can pull it off, they've demonstrated the potential… but it's a hell of an ask. You're going to have a lot of countries signing defense agreements with Ukraine to get access to their tech by the time this whole thing wraps up.

"The US has burned through up to 61% of its Patriot missile arsenal in 39 days of the Iran war. It might take years for US forces and the countries that rely on these munitions to get their refills.

This is bad news for Ukraine. Russia manufactures over 60 ballistic missiles per month, Ukrainian intel agencies say.

Zelenskyy is now asking Ukrainian engineers to solve in one yeara domestic Patriot equivalent, without the radar pipeline, without the budget, without a guarantee it works in combat.

Ukraine might have no alternative but to try."

I worked on ERINT, the missile that was downselected to be PAC-3.

This is NOT an easy problem to solve...They will need a LOT of help but I doubt that the US or Israel would be willing to give up the important tech.

Contracted, but manufactured? I have to wonder if they are able to actually fulfill that.

Huge. Europe continues to step up, approving a $106B loan for Ukraine.

"Ukrainian officials say that a majority of the funds will go toward military production. "We know that roughly two-thirds will be spent on our defense industry," Yuriy Sak, an adviser to Ukraine's Ministry of Strategic Industries, told CBS News. "Our defense industry is capable of producing $50 billion worth of weapons but the government right now can only buy $15 billion."

What if we up production of guidance units and have others manufacture rocket motors and bodies? I would imagine Ukraine or Japan or South Korea or someone could produce compatible rocket bodies and warheads.

More on Ukraine now launching interceptor drones in mid-air from turboprop planes.

"Ukraine has been successfully using several locally produced drones to counter Russian Shaheds for some time now. Both the P1-Sun and the AS-3 Surveyor are small, relatively inexpensive drones built specifically to zip through the skies and intercept long-range one-way attack drones.

In the case of the P1-Sun, this uses a modular, 3D-printed airframe, can operate at altitudes up to 16,400 feet (5,000 meters), and reach speeds of up to 280 miles per hour (450 km/h). This is sufficient to intercept jet-powered drones such as the Russian Geran-3, under some circumstances."
