I'm all for casinos in texas. Add it to the coffers, reduce property tax, low sales tax
I don't disagree with you, but we heard the same thing about the lotto and funding education.
When and where did anyone opfficially say that lottery receipts would fund education in Texas?
I hear this regularly, but the truth is the exact opposite. I don't doubt that people mistakenly remember this, or say they heard people talk about it, but the officials were quite clear before it was adopted; the money goes to the general fund, not education. Other states set it aside for education, but not Texas. Never did in Texas, from before implemented til today.
There is NO QUESTION casino gambling would be a HUGE benefit to the Texas economy and to the state coffers. There'd be an immediate stop to millions and millions of Texans hard earned dollars being spent in Louisiana and Oklahoma. Hundreds and hundreds of new jobs, hundreds of new and expanded ancillary business jobs/dollars, and money going to the state on fees they collect.
