I've never understand the hang up with "Friendsgiving" on this site. It's just an easier way of saying you're doing Thanksgiving with friends instead of family. Plenty of folks came from terrible family lives and enjoy spending the holidays with chosen family.

1. Wash your hands frequently
2. If you're sick, stay home. No need to stay home a week for a cold, but if you have a fever, stay the eff home for a day or two.

I typically associate Thanksgiving with the 4th Thursday in November. My friends and my children come up with these other names for get-togethers that don't happen on that day. For example, the boys in the youth group had dudes-giving on Saturday. The HS track team had a tracks-giving potluck.

That's not what I saw people doing.

They'd get sick with a cold or flu but test negative for covid. Then they'd decide to go visit their elderly relatives because "it wasn't covid".

I had one relative with a bad flu invite the whole family to her house for holiday dinner. Of course, she didn't mention that she was sick before the guests arrived. She wouldn't let anybody take over the food preparation and proceeded to hack, cough, and sneeze over the food while telling everybody she felt awful but it was ok because 'it wasn't covid".

Yep, the guests got sick and yep, she had made everybody get covid tests at a previous holiday dinner.

The vast majority of people demanding covid tests, isolation, and masking are attention seeking idiots.

Same. I host or attend a Friendsgiving every year. It's just a name to indicate a Thanksgiving style potluck dinner with friends instead of the traditional one with family. The backlash is odd. I've never considered it a liberal vs conservative thing.

I'll also look forward to hosting another Friendsgiving next year, along with the normal Thanksgiving dinners with family.

See that is an example of one where can see an activist being put out. Christmas is specific enough related can see why are left woke might have to feel to re-name it.

But Thanksgiving does not say "Family oriented Thanksgiving" there is nothing about the event that needs re-naming, even from some agitator perspective.

3. Lose weight
4. Exercise
5. Take vitamin D3 and Zinc

You don't have to worry about someone getting sick from a social gathering. It's the risk inherent in the broader social compact. Society breaks down without most veryone being willing to assume this small basic risk
