Psalm 115 is one of my favorites. It teaches on idolatry. There are similar passages in Isaiah. But one line says "Those who make idols become like them." I am reminded that when I see these ridiculous idols that others have made, like this hysterical caution over something that is non-threatening, to ask myself what my own idols are. I agree 100% the masking is ******ed in 2020 and even more so in 2024, but that's just one idiot's take on the holiday.

I came from a weird family life and holidays were for blood family only. I was always invited by friends to their holidays but never felt comfortable going. I think calling it Friendsgiving lets some folks feel more comfortable joining another family on the holidays. We still call it Thanksgiving when we're together. Still give thanks for our friendships and loved ones and enjoy fellowship and community.

I guess I'm past the point of getting hung up on what folks call most things. The sentiment behind the day and the gathering with loved ones (blood family or not) is way more important than what the gathering called. People seem to be forgetting that.

So now lets get rid of the polio vaccine.

"Friendsgiving" doesn't make much sense, as the word family isn't even in Thanksgiving in the first place. Also I just don't think it is a total coincidence that it's typically liberals who use that term, and everyone knows how f'ing self centered and entitled (opposite of thankful) liberals generally are.

There is licorice which is black, and then there are other flavors of candy that mimick the form of actual licorice and falsely call themselves "licorice" but are not licorice. Avoid true licorice if you so desire, more for me.

I've got no problem with friendsgiving. It's not a substitute for Thanksgiving. It's something you have with friends before Thanksgiving. We didn't attend one, but I'd have no problem doing so. My kid attended one in Houston with a bunch of her Oil business friends who just really enjoy getting together and enjoying each other's company. Every one of them went to a family Thanksgiving 10 days later. They even said a Thanksgiving prayer before they ate.
