They've been in prison for four years. How much longer do you want them to serve?

Rapists and murderers sometimes serve less time. And he was right. Hardly anyone served any time for the 27 people murdered and over 700 policeman injured or attacked during the 2020 riots.

Most of the J6 people were denied due process.

So well said. I hope HTownAg will respond.

Why were they denied bail?

I don't know. There are factors, flight risk is one of them. But you'd have to look at each individual case to find out why. And I'm not doing that for you.

But you have to because you contend they were afforded due process.

You don't sit in jail for four years for trespassing with no trial if you were afforded due process.

Why did Biden pardon the J6 committee and better yet, why did they accept the pardon?

Trump ran on pardons for the J6 crowd and won. Most of Americans agree those folks have been punished enough,

So it sounds like you're against Trump's pardon. Do you agree with most of his other executive orders?

You're not sitting in jail for four years because of trespassing. That's ridiculous. There has to be some other violent act to go with it, or some other factor to deny bail.

Who assaulted a police officer? I thought the officers opened the door to them? Then you're sadly mistaken, as there are several that were charged with assaulting capital police officers.

Even an "assault" of an officer or destruction of property should be afforded an opportunity for bail. Contrary to the narrative of the left and the MSM, this was not on the same level of 9/11 or Pearl Harbor. they all were afforded that opportunity. Some were given bail, and some were not.

90% of those incarcerated are guilty of nothing more than trespassing. Four years of incarceration, many without a trial, for trespassing.

What about those who have been arrested who never entered the capitol??? They were just there watching and have since been arrested. no problem with those being pardoned.

That's a Stalinist treatment of our citizenry.

That's bull***** They were all not afforded the opportunity for bail. How much longer do they have to serve for you to be OK with it?

You're full of ***** Every one of them was afforded a bail hearing. It's one of the very first things that's done in a case. No one sitting in jail for four years hasn't had a bail hearing. Whether they were properly denied bail is another issue.
Nope.

Cant, they were issued pardons
The DC prosecutors were pardoned? And the federal district court judges? (Judges have an immunity argument but prosecutors don't.)
Prosecutorial immunity from civil suits is a thing recognized by the Supreme Court in Imbler v. Pachtman (1976). It is possible that there could be conduct so egregious as to defeat that immunity, but it'd have to be on the order of the prosecutor personally murdering a defense witness (that may be slight hyperbole, but only slight).

Prosecutors HAVE been disbarred over illegal prosecutions. So whether there are actual criminal sanctions or not, there are other remedies available.

I think that there is more that can be done here. Petitions for overturn, expungement, and sanctions should, at the least, be looked into. We've done it in cases where one has been exonerated 10, 20 or more years after the conviction. There's no reason it can't be done in this case. I also don't see a reason why it can't be done after a pardon, since the pardon was the quickest remedy to get them out of jail.

Some of this has been resolved because many of them played guilty, but there were several initially that were denied bail. Here you go.

Many of them also denied basic rights. No due process.

"It is egregious the way these people have been treated, for as much as two years pretrial, before any finding of fact. When people find out what has been going on in the DC gulag, it is going to shock the American conscience forever," the lawyer said.

A new book about the J6 prisoners, "Due Process Denied," tells a tale of hell in the Washington, DC, "gulag," the Central Detention Facility in southeast Washington where most have been housed.

Cynthia Hughes writes poignantly of one defendant who committed suicide rather than go back to jail.
The defendants have been kept in a separate unit with mold on the walls, brown water and generally unsanitary conditions, are subjected to 23 hours a day of solitary confinement, denied adequate food, medical treatment and religious services.

Their only solace is that every night at 9 p.m., they gather to sing the national anthem.

There was a dispute over a mask between a female guard and a Jan. 6 detainee. This female guard became so enraged with the detainee because he wouldn't wear a mask that she unloaded several cans of Mace . . . and filled the entire pod with fumes. She had a gas mask on, but the men were dropping to their knees and several of them were taken out on stretchers."

Lies, lies lies

They are all guilty until proven innocent, even if they did not enter the Capitol that day.
Nancy Pelosi lied that Trump supporters had defecated all over the House floor.

There is no evidence that any such thing happened.

"There's defecation and all that kind of thing . . . It could take time to clean up the poo-poo that they're making all over," Pelosi said gleefully in a video from the day released by the J6 committee. Just another casual defamation.
Pelosi engineered the J6 committee to her political advantage.
It had access to the surveillance footage and deliberately withheld the truth from the American people about what happened inside the Capitol that day.
Democrats cherry-picked footage and tailored the evidence to support their political witch hunt.

You posted the same link twice, but the first one has to do with people that were denied bail. So they had a hearing to determine if they should get bail or not. The second link has to do with a specific case about someone not getting cancer treatment while being held. And Judge Lambert was right to call out the jail on their incompetence (pro tip: having cancer while being held in jail is a death sentence. It shouldn't be that way, but our jail and prisons treat their incarcerated people like *****) But what your second link has to do with bail, I don't know.
