His death was not being prosecuted before. No one was charged in connection with his death. He died the next day of natural causes. There was a guy that was prosecuted for spraying him with spray, but the prosecutors (unlike the media) didn't try to tie his death to the guy that sprayed him.

His death was used by the media, the left, and by the Stalinist J6 "committee for propaganda purposes. No police died at the hands of J6 protestors.

A protestor WAS gunned down needlessly by a corrupt fascist who never even had to face a grand jury for his actions.

I do think there is a civil suit by Sicknick's estate that is still making its way through courts - I know the wrongful death part of the suit was dismissed, but last I saw there were still some outstanding causes of actions being litigated (maybe violation of civil rights, etc). The pardon don't impact anything on civil side.

I agree our legal system is currently broken. Our right to a "speedy trial" of our peers appears to be gone. We desperately need legal reform. Should everyone have been granted bail? I don't know. Isn't it up to the judge to determine if bail is granted or not? Was the decision to not grant bail justified? I don't think so, but I'm not a judge.

Regardless, the fact that here we are 4 years later and trials have not commenced is complete bull****, That is unacceptable. This whole thing should have been resolved a long time ago.

I'm game for considering time served as a part of determining who should and should not be released.

But I'm just not for a blanket release. Interrupting the business of the US government, which was clearly the intent, is serious business. Those standards should be applied consistently. Unfortunately they are not.

Prosecutors and judges need to held accountable as well. Will be interesting to see if that happens.
As it was astutely stated on another thread, the blanket pardon for the J6 protestors was completely validated as a response to Biden's last minute pardon of each member of the J6 select committee.

It releases him from the conditions with his probation. He's covered by the general pardon in section (b):

Depends on each individual case. A person with violent priors and a flight risk will be viewed differently than someone with no priors and a willingness to comply with bail conditions.

As I said before, there was no good faith on display by either the government prosecutors nor the federal judges when it came to Jan 6ers.

Some judges actually threatened longer sentences if the defendants did not disavow wrong think. And to those judges, wrong think was simply wondering if the 2020 election was on the up and up or not.

Those judges and prosecutors should be disbarred, put on a no fly list, and black listed from any type of public employment. They should be held financially responsible for the lost wages and suffering of those that they prosecuted and sentenced. They are the worst of mankind and they are enemies of the state and should be treated as such.
Covidians, Communists, CNN, FOX, and all other MSM are enemies of the state and should be treated as such.

The U.S. Marshal for the District of Columbia is a Presidential Appointee, and the USMS is part of the Justice Department. So, what is apparently happening now is the Trump DOJ has directed the USMS to go into the DOC and physically remove those J6 defendants still being held.

If I was giving the instructions, I would have DOC officials removed in handcuffs and taken across the river to EDVA to be held pending a investigation into Sec. 242 violations.

As Sen. Lee posted yesterday -- maybe it is time for Congress to revisit "Home Rule" in DC.
Amazing how dumb the resistance is for this. Create new legal actions against DOJ and Bureau of Prisons.

I don't care that one of them got shot during the riot. F16 loves FAFO. She definitely FAFO'ed.

I don't care that Trump pardoned a bunch of the nonviolent ones.
