Almost no one is going to say they're against "Diversity" but that's not the same as asking "Do you support forced diversity that prioritizes skin color, genitals and sexual preferences over actual competency"

    Stock analysts say that a lot. "The market is irrational". No. The analyst has no clue how to explain market action so they call it "irrational".

    The CFO of my previous employer had the same argument to explain why the stock price sucked. They kept lying and lying that it will recover. 2 years and 2 layoffs later, the price is still stuck in the same range.

    These days I see a lot of posts on LI explaining what DEI is and is not.

    They emphasize that it is not racism or anti-merit. It does not steal opportunities from deserving people.
    Instead, they claim, it gives opportunities to those sections who are under-served.

    Sounds good but, whom do they think they are fooling? The math just does not add up. There are only finite opportunities. If you give an under-served person it means that you are stealing from a qualified person.

    What happened, in reality, was that Robert DeNiro sat down with them and told them what troubles would befall them in the market, if they refused to wear the gold star of DEI. If they didn't kiss the ring. If they didn't pay. If they didnt dedicate themselves enough...to "anti-racism"

    This is a pic of the crack team of aviation mechanics working to correct an issue with my flight from Los Angeles to Houston. Some 30 year old tech supervisor they found in line at sea world and a Benjamin Franklin impersonator who can't figure out how to change the background on his iPhone.

    Both have been picking up parts, putting them back down, and staring blankly at their tablets. We're four hours into this repair.

    DEI is Marxist. It forces equal outcomes of unequal inputs by unequal and biased treatment. It assumes equal outcomes across any dimension of analysis is the ultimate good and any unequal manipulation required to get there is therefore righteous.

    It is a new variation of backwards and self serving and myopic rationalizations and conjectures of the 19th century that sacrifices the greatest overall good and most benefit for civilization in short and long term for the forced mediocrity required to achieve universal equal outcomes. And the effect is compounding over time. The opportunity cost to achieve more and faster and make everyone's life better no matter how unequal rapidly exceeds any relative good done got the lowest of the low as civilization forfeits its opportunity to learn and grow and develop new technologies and greater productivity.

    Understanding this, advocating for it is evil.
